The Morehead City Marlins (
mhcmarlins.com) are one of the most successful teams in the Coastal Plain League which provides collegiate players the opportunity to play competitively in a wood-bat league during the summer months in front of professional scouts, while also providing the local community with an affordable summer entertainment destination everyone can enjoy.
The Marlins play at Big Rock Stadium which is undergoing renovations this off season for the 2026 season.
The Marlins organization has developed a program that prepares its staff for a career in sports. We help our staff succeed in their career objectives by preparing for and learning from actual situations our staff encounters at the ballpark which are discussed and experienced daily.
Here's what we're looking for in an ideal candidate:
- Start date May 12th through approximately August 12th.
- Ability to work approximately 20 hours per week.
- Must work all 26 home games and potential playoff games during the 2025 season.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Interact with fans throughout the ballpark (concourses, stands, pre-game areas).
- Lead chants, cheers, and interactive moments to keep energy levels high.
- Distribute giveaways, t-shirts, and promotional items to fans.
- Set up and execute on-field promotional games (e.g., mascot races, hula hoop wave, etc.).
- Coordinate with the PA announcer, mascot, and on-field host to time promotions correctly.
- Keep promotional props and equipment organized and ready for quick access.
- Set up and break down promotional materials and game-day activations.
- Help coordinate post-game fan interactions, such as kids running the bases or autograph sessions.
- Guide and assist the mascot during in-game appearances and promotions.
- High energy & outgoing personality—must be comfortable engaging with large crowds.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience / Qualifications Required:
- Highschool level
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple task
- Ability to work long hours, evenings and weekends
- Thorough understanding of the rules of baseball
