BACKGROUND

If you want to make an impact and break all the rules of minor league sports, we want to talk to you.

When Steve DeLay and Jon Spoelstra launched the Macon Bacon, they re-wrote the rules for summer collegiate baseball, fresh off re-writing the rules for Minor League Baseball while running Mandalay Baseball Properties.  They applied ‘Big League’ skills and strategy that came straight from their books, The Ultimate Toolkit to Sell the Last Seat in the House and The Ultimate Toolkit – Sponsorships.

Did it work?  You bet it did.  The first five seasons of the Macon Bacon have been a smashing success with more than half the games being sold out, averaging more than 2,500/game.  We focus on smaller ticket packages with free food and drinks and family focused entertainment which has put us continuously in the top 10 in attendance in summer college baseball out of more than 300 teams and even had an average attendance of better than 30% of all Minor League Baseball organizations.

The Macon Bacon are led by Team President, Brandon Raphael.  Together, Steve and Brandon have more than 50 years of combined experience all over the country in the NBA, NHL, Major League Baseball, MLS, college athletics and Minor League Baseball and a wide swath of consulting projects, new stadiums and speaking engagements.

EXPANSION WITH THE FLORENCE FLAMINGOS

In 2020, Steve and Brandon purchased the Florence franchise in our league.  Soon after, we  announced the new team, logo and colors for this organization, the Florence Flamingos!  The first season of the Florence Flamingos saw more than half of their games sold out.  The pink has taken the country by storm!  This position will also have oversight of the marketing strategies within Florence.

THE NEXT STEP IN OUR EVOLUTION IS DATA ANALYTICS

We constantly strive to improve and get better.  That’s why we’re looking to take a “Big League” approach to data analytics and marketing to continually improve ticket sales, merchandise sales, the fan experience and more.

As the Manager of Digital Marketing, you’ll be the responsible of three main areas within our marketing team: Digital Marketing (Ads on digital platforms), email marketing and analytics. You will be working along side of our Fan Engagement Marketing Manager and closely with our ticket sales and merchandise team.  This position reports to Brandon, our Team President

Ticket sales and the customer experience/engagement is where everything starts with us and our company.  It is the lifeblood that drives everything else in our organization. We play about 25 home games each year along with other events planned during the offseason.

QUALIFICATIONS

Our ideal candidate should have one to two years of experience in marketing, preferably with a sports organization. We utilize business development techniques of digital, email and social media advertising, so knowledge of those platforms is a plus.  We’re looking for someone that wants to lead the efforts of “fishing where the fish are” marketing and sales strategy.  You should have an elite attention to detail and superior time management skills.  Knowledge and understanding of ticket sales products will be helpful.

You should have the willingness to learn.  To live and breathe working in a great office culture.  Positivity and coming to work every day with a smile is a must.

HOW MUCH

The starting salary is between $30,000-$40,000 and is commensurate with experience for where that will land. There are health benefits, a 401K and profit-sharing plan as well.

We’re looking for someone that’s hungry.  Someone that is ready to take the lead in our office and marketing strategies.  Is that you?  If so, apply and let’s have a chat.
