The Lexington County Blowfish Baseball Club is seeking enthusiastic individuals to apply for the 2026 Summer Creative Team Internship Program. This internship may focus on only photography or videography or both.
This is an internship that will be hands on and fast paced, while allowing you to gain valuable experience in multiple areas of the organization.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for creative sports interns who can help us capture both game action and, more importantly, the fan experience. The candidate(s) for this internship will serve as our main team photographer or team videographer for the 2026 season.
Creative Team Responsibilities:
- Capture fan photos and videos throughout the game, from the front gate before the game begins to the end of the night when fireworks shoot off
- Capture player and staff action photos and videos during the game
- Upload photos and videos for the Front Office staff to utilize during the season on social media and website
- Work with our Partnership Activation Intern to capture images of corporate partners and their assets
- Create and maintain Blowfish roster for media and fans
How's it all sound so far?
The easiest way to put it... we're looking for someone to capture life at a Blowfish game, every time we open the gates. We're looking for a creative spin. We're also in need of video for use in social media advertising.
Job Requirements:
- All interns are expected to work all home games and home playoff games during the 2026 season.
- Stadium work is part of the internship – This could include daily tasks such as hanging signs, cleaning bathrooms, picking up garbage, bagging ice, sweeping the concourse and mopping indoor facilities. This is an essential part of the summer for each intern.
Who are we looking for?
The Blowfish are seeking college students who live in the Midlands of South Carolina or attend a local college or university. Interns are required to routinely travel to Lexington County Baseball Stadium. It is highly preferred that students are able to receive course credit from their college or university for the summer internship. Interns must be available to work from mid-May through the second week of August.
Please note: Housing is not available for this internship.
About the Blowfish:
Named after the best band of the 90s – Hootie and the Blowfish – the Blowfish are a summer collegiate baseball team located in Lexington, South Carolina, and affiliated with the Coastal Plain League. The Blowfish are famous for community engagement, all-you-can-eat ticket plans and providing affordable family fun at the ballpark. The Blowfish are locally-owned by Bill and Vicki Shanahan. Three summers ago, more than 25 interns celebrated on the field as the team won the 2023 CPL Petitt Cup Championship. The Blowfish also were named the 2023 CPL Organization of the Year.
