Blowfish Baseball General Internship (Summer 2024)

Lexington County Blowfish - Intern
Lexington · SC
Internship: Internship
The Lexington County Blowfish Baseball Club is seeking enthusiastic individuals to apply for the 2024 Summer Internship Program. This opportunity is perfect for college students who are looking for an introduction to the sports business or baseball.

This is an internship that will be hands on and fast paced, while allowing you to gain valuable experience in multiple areas of the organization. One of the primary responsibilities is ensuring that all fans have an unforgettable experience at the ballpark each night.

How is our internship different from other sports teams?
As a Blowfish intern, you will not be stuck in one area. Instead, we offer you the opportunity to gain valuable experience in EVERY area that we offer with the organization.

One night you could be scanning tickets at the front gate, the next night you might be preparing food in the concession stand, the following night you may be working in the merchandise stand and the next night you could be on the field running game day promotions and entertainment.

Our summer interns will gain experience in each of the following areas:
  • Tickets (Box Office, Front Gate and Sales)
  • Entertainment (Game Day Promotions and Script Writing)
  • Fan Experience (Guest Services and Hospitality)
  • Merchandise (Team Store and Inventory)
  • Press Box (Video Board, Scoreboard and Video Stream Production)
  • Food and Beverage (Concession Stand, All-You-Can-Eat Tent and Inventory)
  • Stadium Operations (Field Maintenance, Stadium Upkeep, Clubhouse Management, Laundry)
  • Media Relations (Website Management, Feature Writing and Press Releases)

How's it all sound so far?

The Blowfish summer internship program is designed to provide you training in each area so you will gain valuable skills that assist in progressing your sports career.

Job Requirements:
  • All interns are expected to work all home games and home playoff games during the 2024 season.
  • Stadium work is part of the internship – This could include daily tasks such as hanging signs, cleaning bathrooms, picking up garbage, bagging ice, sweeping the concourse and mopping indoor facilities. This is an essential part of the summer for each intern.

Who are we looking for?
The Blowfish are seeking college students who live in the Midlands of South Carolina or attend a local college or university. Interns are required to routinely travel to Lexington County Baseball Stadium. It is highly preferred that students are able to receive course credit from their college or university for the summer internship. Interns must be available to work from mid-May through the first week of August. The season begins May 23 and ends August 3. Orientation will begin May 15.
