Job Summary: To assist with the daily responsibilities of the Arizona complex during Spring Training.
Requirements
  • Education 
    • High School Diploma or GED.Must have earned or are currently pursuing an undergraduate/graduate degree in a sports business or related area of study.
  • Experience
    • Prior work experience in at least one business setting and one sports setting preferred.
  • Skills
    • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills, good grammar, voice, and diction, strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented spirit to provide exceptional service.
    • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and be a self-starter.
    • Strong work ethic.
  • Other
    • Spoken and written fluency in English.
    • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and some overtime, if necessary.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.Willing to relocate. 
    • Internship is located in Goodyear, Arizona.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Administrative Responsibilities – 30%
    •  Distribution of newspapers and mail to departments.
    • Receive, log, distribute, and process USPS/UPS/FedEx packages.
    • Stock general office supplies and refreshments throughout the complex.
    • Assist in keeping the complex organized, orderly, and clean.
  • Operations Support – 25%
    • Assist with the preparation and execution of special events at Reds Development Complex and Goodyear Ballpark.
    • Transportation to and from airports/hotels/etc. for Reds personnel.
    • Potential to perform in mascot suit or to escort mascot performer at Ballpark and community appearances.
  • Customer Relations – 25%
    • Answer and transfer incoming calls.
    • Greet and assist visitors in a professional manner.
    • Assist with VIP tours of the Cincinnati Reds Development Complex.
  • Other – 20%
    • Assist multiple Reds personnel/departments with various other assignments.
    • Assist in other operational, administrative, and customer service duties as needed.

  • Coordinator, Arizona Operations
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the day.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 55 pounds (equipment, gear bags, laundry bins, etc.).
  • Ability to bend, squat, reach, and climb stairs regularly in the course of daily duties
  • Comfortable working in varying conditions (heat, humidity, cold, outdoors, confined spaces like locker rooms).
  • Ability to handle repetitive tasks such as set-up/tear down of equipment, tours of the complex, restocking, etc.
  • Sufficient hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for tasks like organizing equipment, working on administrative tasks at a computer, etc.
  • Must be able to operate a company vehicle or van to manage pick-up and drop-off of players or staff.
  • Ability to remain on feet for long shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays, with variable hours. The time commitment is 10-29 hours per week.
