Mascot Performer

Reports To: Promotional Events Manager
FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Job Summary:
Looking for great candidate to work in costume, on site and off promoting good will and sportsmanship representing the Cincinnati Reds, and be used in game for promotions, fan interaction and motivation.
Employees are expected to follow all Cincinnati Reds policies and procedures, serve as positive role models, and manage their workload effectively. This includes demonstrating flexibility, prioritizing tasks efficiently, and meeting departmental productivity standards.
Minimum Requirements:

Education | High School Graduate or the equivalent
Experience | Performing in front of a crowd with good customer service
Skills | Ability to learn costume care
Preferred Qualifications:

Education | College Degree or higher with an interest in sports entertainment
Experience | College or Corporate Mascot experience
Skills | Knowledge of costume care with repair experience
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Duty | % of Time
Perform at all scheduled events | 50%
Work with Coordinator on scheduling appearances | 30%
Maintain costume, props, and equipment | 15%
Other duties as assigned | 5%
Reporting Structure:
This role reports directly to Promotional Events Manager
Physical Requirements:
- Occasionally required to sit and stand for long durations
- Good physical condition and ability to maintain good physical condition
- Light lifting/carrying to assist with event preparation
- Ability to lift and transport mascot costumes up to 30 lbs.
- Must be able to travel and transport the costume to off-site appearances and community events as needed.
- May be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
- Willing to conduct business during non-traditional hours, utilizing games and events (including evenings and weekends) to interact with clients and prospects
