FLSA STATUS: Exempt 
COMPENSATION RANGE: $75,000 - $85,000 base salary USD

HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE:  
The Event Manager, North Loop Green is a highly autonomous, on-site leader responsible for activating and managing public realm programming, event execution, and placemaking operations within North Loop Green, one of Marquee Development’s destination districts. This person owns the day-to-day activation calendar, leads the local production team, and is accountable for relationship management with key revenue-generating partners, including the district’s food & beverage operator. This individual reports to the Director, Placemaking & Activation Strategy (based in the Chicago home office) and collaborates closely with the corporate strategy, marketing, and operations leads. They are expected to independently make decisions in the field while maintaining alignment with district goals and brand experience standards.  
The successful candidate for this role will be willing and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to support the live events nature of our business. 
The position will include frequent local travel to meet with vendors and business partners and occasional travel to Chicago.  

THE DAY-TO-DAY: 
  • Activation Leadership & On-Site Management 
  • Lead daily execution of the activation and event calendar in a fast-paced, public-facing environment 
  • Serve as the on-site authority for placemaking strategy implementation and guest experience 
  • Coordinate all logistics related to production, programming, and space management ​
  • Responsible for filling and maintaining a robust calendar that drives footfall and revenue to Bassett Hound and The Green
  • Maintain high-quality standards, troubleshoot challenges, and ensure compliance with SOPs 
  • Team & Vendor Oversight 
  • Hire, schedule, and manage a small crew of seasonal and part-time local Production Assistants to support setup, breakdown, and event operations 
  • Direct vendors and on-site partners during events and activations 
  • Ensure consistent training, accountability, and professionalism among all on-site personnel 
  • Partner Management (Food & Beverage and Community) 
  • Serve as the daily liaison for the district’s Food & Beverage partner – ensuring smooth operations, alignment with activations, and integrated promotional efforts 
  • Collaborate on joint revenue-driving initiatives, special events, and seasonal programming 
  • Cultivate relationships with local organizations, tenants, and sponsors to build community ties 
  • Reporting & Communication 
  • Maintain up-to-date activation logs, event recaps, and issue trackers 
  • Collaborate with Marquee Development’s Marketing HQ Team 
  • Share weekly reports with home office, highlighting wins, learnings, and performance data 
  • Communicate staffing needs, operational risks, and partner feedback in a timely and professional manner 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING: 
  • Generally requires 5 - 7 years of related experience, including, 3 – 5 years of experience in event management, hospitality, placemaking, or experiential marketing 
  • Experience meeting and exceeding event-related KPIs 
  • Proven ability to lead on-site teams and manage external partners 
  • Excellent communication, time management, and decision-making skills 
  • Strong comfort with field-based leadership and operating independently 
  • Experience working alongside food & beverage or hospitality partners is a strong plus 
  • Proficient in tools such Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and project management platforms 
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. 
  • Ability to remain standing and on your feet for extended periods of time 
  • Ability to work effectively outdoors during times of weather extremes
