Position Overview
The Winston-Salem Dash are seeking a Part-Time English/Cultural Teacher to support the language development, cultural adjustment, and daily communication needs of professional baseball players. This role focuses on teaching adult learners, primarily Spanish-speaking international players, within a Minor League Baseball environment. The ideal candidate blends English instruction, cultural guidance, and baseball-context learning to help players succeed both on and off the field.
Key Responsibilities
● Teach English language skills to adult professional baseball players at varying proficiency levels
● Support players’ understanding of U.S. culture and daily-life communication
● Design and adapt lessons that integrate education, culture, and baseball-specific language
Required Qualifications
● Experience teaching ESOL
● Fluency in Spanish and English
● Flexibility with scheduling around practices and games
Preferred Qualifications
● Experience working with athletes or multicultural populations
● Familiarity with baseball terminology or professional sports environments
● Teaching certification or ESL endorsement
● Functional knowledge of the game of baseball and general rules
