Position Summary:
As the Mascot Entertainer for the Salem Red Sox, you will be a core part of creating unforgettable game day and community experiences. You will bring energy, charm, and flair to the role, helping engage fans throughout Carilion Clinic Field at Salem Memorial Ballpark and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performance & Entertainment:
Create and perform engaging entertainment such as skits, dance routines, improvisation, and interactive games with fans to enhance the fan experience during games. - Fan Engagement:
Move through all areas of the ballpark — concourses, seating sections, suites, picnic areas, etc. — interacting with fans of all ages. Make each interaction memorable and positive. - Stamina & Physical Demand:
Be prepared to perform in costume for extended periods. This includes walking, standing, climbing stairs, dancing, sometimes in hot or otherwise challenging weather conditions, etc. - Energy & Attitude:
Maintain enthusiasm and a high-energy presence throughout games and events. Be positive, approachable, and responsive to fans and staff alike. - Community & Off-Season Appearances:
Represent the Salem Red Sox off the field during community events, charity appearances, and promotional activities, helping strengthen the team’s local presence. - Adaptability:
Be comfortable adapting performances and tone to various environments — high-energy home games, slower promotional events, kid-focused activities, corporate events, etc. - Other Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned, which may include last-minute requests, travel to selected events, or assisting with other promotional functions.
