About Pelicans Ballpark

Pelicans Ballpark is a year-round entertainment venue and home to the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Class-A Affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. Pelicans Ballpark is in Myrtle Beach, SC less than a mile from the beach. The ballpark hosts 66 Pelicans game each year in addition to numerous other events including concerts, baseball/softball games, the Myrtle Beach Marathon, community events and more.

The Pelicans are entering their 27th season in Myrtle Beach.  The team played its first season in 1999 and recently signed a new 30-year lease with the City of Myrtle Beach, securing their future in Pelicans Ballpark for decades to come.

Position Description 
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans are seeking an individual to serve as a part-time on-field host for the 2026 season. This is a paid, part-time, seasonal position that will help enhance the fan experience at Pelicans Ballpark during a select number of home games. Candidates who have completed a four-year college degree or working toward a degree are a plus, but not necessary. All appropriate candidates will be required to audition as a part of the interview process. The hired candidate will report directly to the Assistant General Manager, Fan Engagement. Due to the part-time nature, this position would be an ideal fit for a candidate who is local to the Myrtle Beach or Grand Strand area. Qualified candidates can expect to be contacted directly to go through the interview and audition process.
 
Responsibilities 
  • Execute and emcee all on-field and in-crowd promotions, both sponsored and unsponsored, as set forth in the game script and rundown. 
  • Create a fun and energetic in-game experience by personally interacting with fans inside and outside of the stadium.
  • Participate in promotional videos used both in-stadium as well as online for digital content. 
 
Qualifications
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends through the months of April-September. 
  • Outgoing, dependable and organized, with a willingness and desire to have fun.
  • Comfortable performing in front of large crowds with an ability to generate crowd enthusiasm.
  • Must be adaptable, versatile and tactful in dealing with the public.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work well under pressure.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to improvise when in a professional and entertaining manner when necessary.
  • Possesses strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
  • Previous emcee experience, either on camera hosting or live entertainment experience with a demo reel is preferred. (Other applicants will not be excluded)
Duration/Compensation
  • This is a seasonal, part-time, position that runs between the months of April and September.
  • Hourly rate.
