Pelicans Ballpark is a year-round entertainment venue and home to the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Class-A Affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. Pelicans Ballpark is in Myrtle Beach, SC less than a mile from the beach. The ballpark hosts 66 Pelicans game each year in addition to numerous other events including concerts, baseball/softball games, the Myrtle Beach Marathon, community events and more.

Practice Makes Perfect

You'll be training, training and training some more to become the best ticket sales person that you can be. When you're done training, we'll go ahead and keep training to keep you sharp. You'll be coached and trained by leaders in the sports industry, joining a ticket sales process that's been proven to be successful.
What You Will Be Doing:
As an Inside Sales Representative your main responsibility will be selling tickets. That's priority numbers 1, 2 and 3. You'll do this by learning to sell from some of the best in the industry and connecting with our fans using various outbound techniques, including phone calls, emails, social media, etc. Once connected with our fans you will be using solutions based selling techniques to recommend the best fit for their situation. The Inside Sales Representative position is the perfect fit for someone looking to become the next great sales leader of our industry.
As a Box Office Assistant, your main responsibilities will be customer service, servicing clients, helping to hit team goals, and maintaining box office operational needs. You’ll do this by answering/returning phone calls in a timely manner, processing sales contracts, up-selling potential clients at the window/over the phone, and printing/organizing tickets for delivery/shipping/will-call. Working all possible games/events (including nights, weekends, and Holidays). An assistant should be prepared to work 40+ hours during a non-game week and up to 100 hours during the weeks with home games.
Essential Duties and Primary Responsibilities include but not limited to (other duties may be assigned):
· Responsible for, but not limited to, new season ticket sales, individual and packaged suites/hospitality, and group events to corporations, non-profits, schools, civic groups and the general public with an emphasis on maximizing revenue.
· Meet and exceed established weekly, monthly and annual sales goals.
· Implement and demonstrate outbound sales efforts by using sales and service best practices, prospecting, networking, lead generation, referral gathering, data capture and personal database management.
· Generate a pre-determined minimum number of weekly out of office as well as in ballpark “face-to-face” meetings to create new business opportunities.
· Provide a superior level of customer service to all suite clients, season ticket holders, plan holders, single game buyers, new business prospects and fans alike.
· Continually create and implement unique sales strategies, ideas and programs as a means of producing new business opportunities.
· Contribute positively to the sales team culture by developing mutually beneficial working relationships with all team members.
· Participate and contribute to daily or weekly sales team meetings and training sessions.
· Model and reinforce the Pelicans "expectations" of positivity, work ethic, professionalism, respect and being the best you can be.
· In and outbound season/mini ticket sales, group sales, and single game fulfillment. Single/package allocation, database management, and game day operations.
· Provide assistance with various marketing and promotional activities for the purpose of servicing ticket purchasers or corporate partners.
· Work closely with Box Office Manager and Senior Director of Finance to make sure proper accounting and reporting procedures are followed, including, maintenance of account reports, daily sales tracking report, contracted sales report, attendance report, and game day audits.
· Opening and Closing duties of Box Office. Includes, counting monies, balancing reports, daily sales reports, upkeep of work areas, etc
· Be available to field and answer fan messages on various social media channels, as well as front desk phone calls and fan inquiries.
· Perform as mascots if necessary.
· Other duties as assigned.
Competencies:
· Strong organizational and time-management skills.
· Excellent oral and written communication, customer service and problem-solving skills.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
· Ability to function in fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects and adhere to deadlines.
· Ability to navigate the stadium in order to visit clients during home games and escort potential customers on seat tours, showing various seating options and facilities on both game days and non-game days.
· Availability to work flexible long hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
Qualifications:
· Looking for a leader who is personable, hardworking, self-motivated, organized and detail-oriented to become a valuable member of our sales team.
· Excellent communication (written and verbal), decision making, basic computer skills, project management, and inter-personal skills necessary.
· Experience working with an Athletic Ticketing System recommended.
· 3-5 references available upon request.
Duration/Compensation
· This is a seasonal position that will begin as early as January 2026 and conclude Mid-September 2026.
· Compensation: Monthly Stipend + commission on all contracted ticket sales
