About Pelicans Ballpark

Pelicans Ballpark is a year-round entertainment venue and home to the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Class-A Affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. Pelicans Ballpark is in Myrtle Beach, SC less than a mile from the beach. The ballpark hosts 66 Pelicans game each year in addition to numerous other events including concerts, baseball/softball games, the Myrtle Beach Marathon, community events and more.

The Pelicans are entering their 27th season in Myrtle Beach.  The team played its first season in 1999 and recently signed a new 30-year lease with the City of Myrtle Beach, securing their future in Pelicans Ballpark for decades to come.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Director of Retail & Ballpark Operations in the areas of facility operations management and daily ballpark operations.  
  • Willing to take a leadership role for all gameday staff in the Operations department, (Ushers, Parking, Cleaning crew, Amusements) 
  • Assist in the recruiting, hiring and training of ballpark staff involved with Operations, (Ushers, Parking, Cleaning crew, Amusements)
  • Provide assistance to stadium ushers to insure the best fan experience for everyone.
  • Work in tandem and independently with other Operations Assistant to ensure the ballpark is kept clean
  • Work with Pelicans parking crew to ensure a friendly efficient experience
  • Assist in ensuring ballpark is setup on specific schedule prior to gates open 
  • Serve as liaison and/or perform duties for custodial and maintenance needs
  • Ability to learn the ballpark operating systems, i.e. HVAC, plumbing, electrical and concessions.  
  • Maintain relationship with front office staff and City employees in regards to operational needs.
  • Work with both clubhouses to provide assistance as needed 
  • Actively participate in making Pelicans Ballpark the best ballpark experience in the country
  • Assist on playing field as needed
  • Assist in the orchestration of outside events, i.e Myrtle Beach Marathon, Baseball at the Beach, city events, Triple Crown,etc
  • Perform additional duties as needed
 

Qualifications

·       Experience in general maintenance with a good working knowledge of basic tools.
·       Available to work a full schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours
·       General Knowledge of Small Engine Repair preferred but not required
·       Previous experience in a similar, fast-paced environment
·       Dependable with reliable transportation
·       Willingness to pursue a career in MILB
·       Must be able to lift over 50 lbs. and stand or walk for long periods of time in adverse weather including rain and heat  
·       Dedicated to making the Pelicans Experience the best in the country is a must
·       Ability to work in tandem yet independently with the other ops assistant 
·       This is a hands on position, in both a supervisory and maintenance role
 

Duration

  • Seasonal Position: Spring through mid-late September
