MiLB STRINGER (Seasonal)

OVERVIEW
The Kannapolis Cannon Ballers are seeking a detail‑oriented and baseball‑savvy seasonal Stringer to assist with the accurate, real‑time capture of game data throughout the 2026 season. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity of official MiLB statistics and supports both our baseball operations and fan‑facing digital platforms. The ideal candidate is composed under pressure, confident in a press‑box setting, and committed to precision.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Verify all pregame information, including team rosters, umpire assignments, and weather conditions.
  • Score every pitch and game event (plays, substitutions, etc.) in real time using league‑provided software and coding tools.
  • Collaborate with game‑night support staff via Slack to resolve scoring questions and maintain data accuracy.
  • Complete all postgame data entry and confirm accuracy by reviewing the official box score.
  • Ensure real‑time data submission with minimal delays.
  • Diagnose and resolve basic technical issues (e.g., connectivity, software errors) as needed.
  • Maintain a professional presence in the press box and adhere to MLB and MiLB conduct standards.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong understanding of baseball rules and scoring methodology.
  • High level of computer proficiency, particularly within Windows OS, Windows‑based applications, and Chrome.
  • Familiarity with Slack or similar communication platforms.
  • Basic technical knowledge including Ethernet/Wi‑Fi setup, enabling/disabling adapters, and identifying MAC addresses.
  • Previous experience with a professional, collegiate, or similar sports organization—especially in a press‑box environment—is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently while managing time‑sensitive responsibilities.
  • Positive, team‑first attitude; receptive to feedback and comfortable working collaboratively with game‑day staff.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Stringers must be available for most Cannon Ballers home games, including nights, weekends, and select holidays. Scheduling will vary based on game and event needs.
