MASCOT PERFORMER (Seasonal)
OVERVIEW
The Kannapolis Cannon Ballers are the Single-A Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox and are committed to setting the standard for excellence in Minor League Baseball. The team is looking for an energetic, creative, and reliable performer to take on the role of Boomer, the beloved Cannon Ballers mascot. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about entertaining fans of all ages and thrives in a fast-paced, interactive environment.
JOB TYPE
- Status: Seasonal Compensation
- Hours: On baseball game days, roles begin approximately two hours before first pitch through the completion of the game. Additional opportunities will also be available for special events and appearances.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform as Boomer at all home games, engaging fans and elevating the game day experience.
- Represent the Cannon Ballers at community events, including parades, school and hospital visits, non-profit functions, and local business activations.
- Create fun and memorable interactions with fans—especially children—through high-energy skits, gestures, and improvisation.
- Collaborate with the game entertainment team to execute on-field promotions and between-innings activities.
- Maintain a strong presence through the ballpark, including the concourse, stands, and field.
- Uphold the character’s personality, integrity, and brand at all times.
- Properly store and care for the mascot costume, reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
- Contribute creative ideas for new skits, social media content, and community engagement involving Boomer.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Outgoing, animated personality with strong improvisational and non-verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable dancing, performing high-energy movements, and working in front of large crowds.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and attend community events as required.
- Prior performance or dance experience is required.
- Dependable, team-oriented, and committed to delivering a top-tier fan experience.
- Reliable, responsible, and punctual.
REQUIREMENTS
- Due to costume specifications, preferred performer height range is 5'8”– 6'1”
- Must be able to tolerate heat and various weather conditions; required to move and perform, in costume, both indoors and outdoors.
