FIELD TIMING COORDINATOR / PITCH CLOCK OPERATOR (Seasonal)
OVERVIEW
The Field Timing Coordinator plays a key role in maintaining the pace and flow of Cannon Ballers home games. This position is responsible for operating the pitch clock and timing systems in accordance with Minor League Baseball and Major League Baseball rules. The ideal candidate is composed under pressure, detail‑oriented, and committed to delivering a seamless game experience for players, umpires, and fans.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor and reset pitch clock timers after each pitch and at all designated intervals per official MLB rules.
- Operate timing equipment quickly, accurately, and efficiently throughout the game.
- Troubleshoot technical or operational issues without delay.
- Communicate clearly and courteously with umpires, official scorers, and team personnel.
- Maintain a high level of focus and professionalism in the press box environment.
- Ensure all timing procedures align with current league regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and select holidays.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with game‑day staff.
- Prior experience with a professional or collegiate sports team, preferably with press box operations.
- Extensive understanding of baseball rules, flow of play, and pitch‑clock protocol.
- Ability to remain attentive and responsive during fast‑paced, high‑pressure situations.
