BROADCAST & MEDIA RELATIONS ASSISTANT (Seasonal)

OVERVIEW
The Kannapolis Cannon Ballers are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Broadcast & Media Relations Assistant for the upcoming season. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in sports broadcasting and media relations, while needing to fulfill college internship or practicum requirements in a dynamic Minor League Baseball environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide broadcast color commentary on selected games, with opportunities to develop play-by-play skills.
  • Assist in the daily creation of game notes, statistics packets, and lineup cards for the press box.
  • Contribute to postgame recap stories and player/coach profiles.
  • Support game-day operations as needed within the press box staff.
  • Help expand coverage of the Cannon Ballers by participating in pregame/postgame shows and conducting player interviews.
  • Coordinate player, coach, and staff interview requests from outside media.
  • Collaborate with the Cannon Ballers front office to advance organizational goals.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • On-air experience is preferred but not required. 
  • Strong knowledge of AP style and journalistic practices.
  • Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Solid understanding of baseball, with an emphasis on Minor League prospects and the Chicago White Sox organization.
