POSITION: Assistant General Manager
OVERVIEW:
The Kannapolis Cannon Ballers are the Single-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox and member of Minor League Baseball. Since relocating to the award-winning Atrium Health Ballpark in downtown Kannapolis, the team has experienced exponential growth within the community and baseball industry. The organization has assembled a Front Office that is driven to succeed and further establish the Cannon Ballers as a model franchise within Minor League Baseball.
The Cannon Ballers are seeking a hard-working, creative, and results-driven leader who is passionate about building relationships and creating exceptional fan experiences. The Assistant General Manager will play a critical role in the success of the franchise by driving corporate partnerships, ticket sales, and long-term customer relationships while providing leadership across multiple departments. The ideal candidate is a proactive sales professional with a proven ability to generate revenue, lead teams, and foster a culture of engagement, accountability, and excellence. PRIMARY DUTIES:

- Act as a leader, manager and mentor to all staff while embracing a culture where people perform and enjoy their workplace.
- Prospect, pitch, negotiate and close new national, regional, and local partnership opportunities.
- Acquire new partners by selling fully-integrated and customized sponsorships based on the specific and unique business challenges for each client.
- Direct oversight of the sales department, including business development, season ticket sales, group sales, and ticket operations.
- Management of the ticket sales team through training, mentoring, and measurable performance objectives.
- Monitor, manage, and evaluate staff performance on an ongoing basis; establish and communicate clear revenue and training goals, follow up with appropriate feedback and direction for development.
- Oversee ticket sales through outbound, inbound, and renewal sales, including tracking and monitoring calls for productivity and effectiveness.
- Track and report daily, weekly, and monthly sales figures.
- Make recommendations on strategies for improved awareness and overall group ticket sales.
- Ensure a high level of service is delivered to established season ticket holders and prospective new customers by establishing professional standards within the department.
- Work strategically with Marketing & Communications to develop cost-effective promotions and platforms to generate new sales leads and ticket sales.
- Research and understand prospective partner business objectives and align assets and customer insights to objectives.
- Identify new revenue streams as it relates to offseason and non-baseball events.
- Manage all operations of the team with assistance from senior leadership; providing continual direction and oversight for all business and administrative affairs as it functions in the community.
- Ensure the overall coordination and management of game day staff.
- Manage customer concerns, expectations, and issues as they arise.
- Develop strategies that focus on employee retention and recognition.
- Aid in the development and management of the team’s operating budget.
- Coordinate team travel and baseball related logistics, including player housing, hotels, and bus transportation.
- Responsible for working in tandem with food and beverage management to ensure a premier customer experience.

- Candidate must have a minimum of 3-4 years of experience as a strong Sales Director, Assistant General Manager, or General Manager.
- The ideal candidate must have a drive for aggressively growing revenue while focusing on managing, training, and leading sales staff.
- A proven track record of personal sales of sponsorships and tickets is a requirement.
- Superior communication, organization, and time management skills.
- The ability to work long hours, including weekends and holidays is a necessity.
- Recruiting and hiring experience.
- Familiarity with computerized ticketing systems and operational systems that run a ballpark.
- Exceptional customer service skills and the willingness to always Have a Blast.
