Title: Merchandise/Front Office Administrator Intern
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Overall Responsibility:
The Greensboro Grasshoppers, the Class A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, are looking to fill a Merchandise/Front Office Administrator intern position for the 2022 season. We are eager to find an energetic individual who will help in supervising our souvenir store and be our first point of contact as they enter the administrative offices.
The intern will primarily report to the Chief Financial Officer and assist with overseeing all aspects of our retail business and front office administration.  The intern will also contribute to other areas such as tickets, operations, group sales, and promotions as needed.
Daily Responsibilities:
  • Learn and have proficient knowledge of all aspects of our POS System
  • Help in maintaining a neat, clean, and organized store/storage room
  • Assist in tagging and displaying new merchandise that will arrive throughout the season
  • Assist in maintaining adequate retail floor inventory at all times
  • Assist in the opening of the Hoppers Yard for retail business from 9 AM – 5 PM, Monday – Friday, and on game days
  • Assist with walk-up, phone, and online ticket orders through the Hoppers Yard 
  • Oversee front office administration, greet guests, answer phone calls 
  • Serve as the ambassador for the administrative front office
  • Assist in creating promotional ideas to generate sales
  • Assist all managers and coworkers in fulfilling the company missions statement
  • Fully understand and abide by all rules and regulations contained within the Greensboro Baseball, LLC Employee Handbook
  • Additional duties as needed
  • Willing and capable to work LONG and HARD hours 
  • Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel
  • Ability to learn and use ticketing software
  • Display a positive disposition and patience with fans at all times
  • Must have initiative; comfortable working in an isolated setting (i.e. Merchandise Store)
  • Ability to take direction and work with others 
  • Willingness to assist in the management of the game day staff
  • Be accountable for managing cash and credit information
  • Value organization, customer service, thoroughness, accountability, and fun!
