Stadium Operations Game Day Internship

The Fireflies internship position(s) will be open to college students and recent college graduates. Interns will be required to work all home games and regular non-games day office hours. Members of the internship program will be exposed to all facets of a minor league baseball organization and will gain practical, in depth experience from one of the positions listed below. Hardball capital believes in hiring from within; many of our current full-time staff members began as interns with one of our clubs. Target start date is mid-January -early February.

Duties and responsibilities include the following:
  • Rotating between the kids zone
  • Usher
  • Parking
  • Janitorial departments to gain knowledge in all of stadium operations

Usher game day duties: including but not limited to; wiping down seats & drink rails pre-game, checking ID’s and ticket stubs, providing excellent customer services to fans, crowd control during game and post game

Kids zone game day duties: including but not limited to; assisting with the set up/ breakdown of all inflatables & kiosk, wipe down and inspect all inflatables, tapping inflatables during inclement weather, overseeing the safety and well being of each child using the inflatables.

Parking game day duties :including but not limited to; assisting with the set up/ breakdown of all signage & barricades, directing vehicles to open parking lots, valet, handicap, etc, controlling flow of traffic in parking lots, opening/closing parking lots when instructed to, communicating with supervisor via ratio, directing vehicles to closest exit post-game

Janitorial Game Day Duties: including but not limited to; re-stocking bathroom supplies following  sanitization protocol, trash removal, mopping, sweeping, window cleaning, leaf blowing, pressure washing, full stadium clean-out post-game

Assisting the Director and Assistant Director pre-game/ post game with other tasks as assigned on game days

Other duties as assigned

  • Ability to adapt to fast-paced situations
  • Ability to work in a team setting or individually (both will occur)
  • Goal oriented and organized individual
  • Good time management skills
  • Have a high attention to detail
  • Must be willing to work long hours in inclement weather
  • Present yourself in a professional matter
  • Willingness to be challenged and step outside your comfort zone
