Retail/Licensing: Retail Store Management
The Coordinator, Team Store Operations provides administrative and operational support to the Senior Director, Retail with a focus on day to day operations in the Team Store at the National Training Complex during all USA Baseball and Town of Cary events. The position supports the retail department, with an emphasis on order fulfillment, at the Fulfillment Center in the offseason. Position will work from the USA Baseball Team Store in Cary, NC.
Since 1978 USA Baseball has been the National Governing Body (NGB) for amateur baseball. It represents the sport in the United States as a member of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) and internationally as a member federation of the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC).  
Position Responsibilities  
  • Ensure the highest level experience for each individual who engages with USA Baseball Shop. 
  • Serve as the primary contact for all Team Store (Cary, N.C.) retail operations for events during the USA Baseball season (June to August) and outside the season (September to May). Work from the Team Store daily with opening and closing responsibilities.
  • Coordinate with the Town of Cary all store opening needs that are outside of the USA Baseball season.
  • Hire, train and manage Team Store staff for all events at the National Training Complex, including the National High School Invitational (NHSI), Collegiate National Team Series, Prospect Development Pipeline League (PDPL), National Team Development Programs (NTDP), National Team Trials, National Team Identification Series (NTIS) and Futures Invitational. 
  • Responsible for ensuring staff members provide excellent customer service.
  • Develop store staffing schedule for each event based on the field schedule provided by the Senior Director, Operations. 
  • Create and distribute staffing schedule to the appropriate individuals a minimum of two weeks prior to each event.
  • Forecast retail product needs for each USA Baseball event hosted at the National Training Complex based on analysis of previous year’s sales. 
  • Monitor the financial performance of the Team Store against the budget.
  • Maintain outstanding conditions and visual merchandising standards at the Team Store. 
  • Inventory management, including comps, transfers and annual physical inventory preparation.
  • Manage in-store customer returns and exchanges. 
  • Manage the in-store staff discount program and distribution of discount cards to program directors. 
  • Responsible for ordering supplies (store bags, free shipping flyers, size labels, etc.) as needed. 
  • Manage the in-store barcode system. Ensure that all products are properly barcoded and in the Shopify POS system prior to going on display. 
  • Expectation to fully understand the Shopify system and keep all software and hardware up to date. Must have the ability to resolve any technical issues that store staff may encounter. 
  • Update and maintain the calendar function on the Flagship Store section of based on current Team Store hours of operation. 
  • Assist with developing and manage the “Ship to Store” program on 
  • Travel to Arizona to oversee and assist with store operations at the National Team Championships Arizona Team Store, if necessary.  
  • Provide exceptional customer service through various communication platforms including toll-free number, email, live chat and social media to numerous customers on a daily basis regarding all Shop and USA Baseball general inquiries. 
  • Provide assistance at the Fulfilment Center with order fulfillment as needed, including the holiday season and days when Shop email campaigns are released.
  • Expectation to work at the Fulfilment Center on all major ecommerce shopping dates. Including (but not limited to): Black Friday, Saturday and Sunday between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Cyber Monday. 
  • Provide onsite assistance at the USA Baseball National Training Complex as needed, including tarp pulls.
  • Expectation to be “on call” during all major USA Baseball event dates. 
  • Opportunity to work on new product development, merchandising and marketing plans.
Interns/Hourly Associates  
  • This individual will oversee two (2) seasonal interns along with the Senior Director, Retail and will be the main point of contact for the 10-15 hourly Team Store sales associates hired to work in the Team Store at the USA Baseball National Training Complex for USA Baseball events. 

 Basic Qualifications  
  • All candidates must demonstrate computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint. 
  • Must have an excellent attitude and work well in a team setting.  
  • Must exhibit strong communication skills and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable work schedule for changing organizational needs.  
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when working with sensitive employee and business data.
Preferred Qualifications 
  • Understanding of the budgeting process. 
  • Previous retail and/or event management experience.  
  • Ability to problem solve and provide new points of view. 
Required Education  
  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree.  
Expected Start Date
  •  February 2022.
