JOB DESCRIPTION: The Seattle Mariners are accepting applications for a Minor League Rehabilitation Coordinator.  This is a 12-month position, which requires relocation to Peoria, AZ to provide year round medical coverage for Mariners minor league baseball players at the Peoria Complex.  

Duties include:

  • Develop and implement rehabilitation programs including hitting and throwing progressions for all minor league players as well as 40-man roster players rehabbing in Arizona.
  • Applicant will be responsible for record keeping of all medical care, assisting in return to play decision making for injured minor league players including updating High Performance Director, Minor League Director, Minor League Medical Coordinator on their progress; and maintain rehab protocols and interval throwing programs for all rehab players
  • Maintain EMR and procedures in cooperation with Minor League Medical Coordinator
  • Assist in maintaining all aspects of worker’s comp policy, medical reporting and tracking on players
  • Review, assess and communicate player medical files in preparation for June draft, Rule 5 draft and potential Minor league free agent signings
  • Assist with drug testing procedures conducted by MLB
  • Coordinate ordering of medical supplies for Peoria complex, and assist in maintenance of budgets for supplies during off-season
  • Other Duties as assigned
Applicant should have strong communication skills to interact with Minor League Athletic Training Coordinator, Major League Athletic training staff, fellow athletic trainers, team doctors, managers and coaches, front office personnel and strength and conditioning staff.  Applicant must have strong manual therapy skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Completion of Master’s Degree in physical therapy, athletic training or other allied health profession, NATABOC Certified, or licensed as a Physical Therapist. Applicants having multiple disciplines such as MPT, ATC, and CSCS is preferred but not required. CPR/AED certified. Applicants must be either licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Arizona. Bilingual and baseball experience is preferred but not necessary to apply.
