Under the supervision of the Director of Operations & Security and Assistant Director of Operations, the Operations Interns will assist in game-day operations at Salt River Fields. The interns will also support in-game presentation and contribute to event execution.
Must be available from January through April with a minimal class schedule
Monday - Friday 9am to 5pm, January 5th to March 1st | 5 Days a week once games begin (some weekends)
Interviews will take place in October / November. Selected candidates hired in December. The start date for this position is January 5th.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborate and oversee Guest Services and Production staff to ensure smooth game-day and event operations.
- Take an active role in the hiring, scheduling, and training of Guest Services Agents.
- Oversee and manage a staff of 100+ Guest Services personnel on game days.
- Support other departments as needed, including game production, security and events.
- Ensure guest needs are met, working with the Guest Services team to address any concerns.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations & Security and Assistant Director of Operations
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics:
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow directions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Effective team player with excellent communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a high-energy environment
- Public speaking experience is a plus.
- Physically capable of lifting heavy objects (such as 8-foot tables) and standing/walking for extended periods.
Schedule and Time Commitment:
- 35-40 hours per week, including some weekends
- Limited evening shifts, though some may be required based on event needs.
Qualifications:
- Must be available from January through April with a minimal class schedule
- Minimal class schedule | Monday - Friday 9am to 5pm, January 5th to End of February | 5 Days a week once games begin
- Actively pursuing a degree, or a Postgraduate with a degree.
- Wanting to pursue career in sport/event management
- Ability to work weekends, particularly during spring training.
- Guest services experience is preferred
