The City of Peoria Parks & Recreation Department is seeking a Facilities Technician I to perform a variety of semi-skilled maintenance and repair tasks involving City buildings, facilities, pools, and equipment. This position supports City parks, community pools, and the Peoria Sports Complex—home of the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners Spring Training facilities.
Key responsibilities include assisting with events, inspecting equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and completing semi-skilled work in areas such as plumbing maintenance and repair, painting, carpentry, doors, seating, and pool systems throughout park facilities.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience with plumbing maintenance and repair
- Have experience with pool maintenance and repair
- Possess a CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certification
- Have experience with door hardware installation and repair
- Have experience with interior maintenance, including drywall repair and replacement, painting, and light replacement
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Nine to twelve months of experience in a similar or related position
- Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid Class “D” Driver’s License at time of hire
- CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certification within 12 months of hire
Hiring Range: $22.88/hr - $27.23/hr DOE
