The Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) seeks a creative, organized, and resourceful Program Manager. This role will develop and execute programs and events that drive member and donor recruitment, engagement and satisfaction, reporting to the Sr Director of Membership & Development and COO.

Responsibilities:
Membership & Development Operations
  • Manage membership and development operations, including solicitation and retention efforts:
    • Cultivate & maintain relationships and provide exceptional customer service 
    • Develop and execute membership strategies with continuous evaluation
    • Enhance and manage membership benefit offerings, including print and digital catalogs
    • Develop and manage fundraising campaigns (annual appeal, Giving Tuesday, year-end, etc.)
  •  Grow the MLBPAA Clubhouse app for alumni and spouses with engaging content 
  • Manage The Wives Club program
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships, manage benefit offerings, including an e-newsletter and events, develop recruitment and renewal strategies, and continuously evaluate to ensure member satisfaction 
  • Facilitate bilingual (Spanish/English) communications 
  • Assist with general support for Membership & Development department

Event Management 
  • Plan and execute department events and meetings (Career Development Summit, Desarrollo Profesional, annual meetings, etc.):
    • Create RFPs, track proposals and draft agreements, and manage contracts 
    • Oversee banquet event orders, A/V, hotel room blocks, invitation and guest management, day-of logistics for supporting staff, liaise with sponsors and manage overall vendor relations
  • Coordinate logistics for the MLBPAA Alumni Day Series (reunion events):
    • Manage invitations, registrations, RSVPs, event correspondence, day-of materials, ticket distribution, banquet event orders, execute day-of event (set-up/tear-down), and post-event surveys 

Qualifications & Preferred Skills:
  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours as needed
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Fluent in Spanish strongly preferred
  • Experience in professional sports, events, or nonprofit settings a plus
  • Experienced with hotel contracts and negotiating, meeting planning and product ordering
  • Blackbaud experience preferred (Raiser’s Edge & Luminate Online) or equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and able to thrive in fast-paced environments
  • Positive attitude and works well both independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to lift/move event materials and boxes as needed
