Driveline Baseball is seeking a Business Associate – Pacific Rim Operations to help lead our efforts in growing our business in Asia, with a focus on Japan and Korea.

The foundation of our business is the relationships we build with our athletes and coaches. Driveline Baseball's success and future growth is predicated on furthering those relationships within the baseball community and communicating our methodology for training baseball players to the world. In-gym and remotely, we get great results training athletes--but, for many of our prospective trainees and customers, our methods for developing players are new and different.
 
 We can only grow as fast as we can help resolve customers' questions about what is effective when it comes to baseball player development.

Every day, you will help athletes and their families along the journey of their baseball career, listening to how they approach their career and finding a best fit training program.
 
 You'll work with coaches of teams to help them improve their players. You will work internally to suggest better ways for us to run Driveline. You will be in an environment that provides endless opportunity to develop yourself, your team, the company, and baseball as a whole.
 
 The structure of the business associate's job is straightforward: 

  • A few of the core functions include, but are not limited to: answering emails and phone calls, connecting with our customer base through account reach-outs, assisting with our front desk operations, and getting to know our company, athletes, and customers better. Your week will consist of 40 hours working to better. 
  • As your development progresses, you will be expected to be able to take on significant business related projects and act as lead on them. This might also be a time in which you work other other groups in Driveline on joint projects not directly related to business.

Job Summary

We are seeking a professional, skilled individual for a role in our Business Operations group supporting efforts with our Pacific Rim Operations.

This position is responsible for leading business development operations within the Pacific Rim region, with a focus on developing and maintaining relationships with professional baseball organizations in the KBO League (Korea) and Nippon Professional Baseball (Japan). Connections or relationships within these organizations is highly desirable.

Outline of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answering questions from Driveline customers and trainees about program options, equipment and training methodology via email, phone, chat and social media.
  • Making phone calls and sending emails on behalf of Driveline to connect with potential customers and athletes.
  • Assisting our team with sales efforts through email, phone, and social media efforts.
  • Suggesting new content, processes, or procedures that resolves pain points for current customers or prospective ones.
  • Collaborating with other departments on a regular basis to ensure we are providing the best possible solutions for athletes, coaches, parents, and fans alike.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required

  • Fluency in Business-level English and Japanese (native speaker of either English or Japanese language preferred)
  • Must be willing to regularly travel to Japan and Korea
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds. 
  • Must be able to type over 50 words per minute. 
  • Experience communicating with customers in a customer service or sales role. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and work ethic - Driveline is a highly competitive environment
  • Experience using or teaching Driveline's programs or products.
  • A passion for, and deep understanding of, baseball. 
  • Experience solving problems independently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Docs. 
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced startup type environment with little direct supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of baseball industry-specific terminology is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of Keigo (formal Japanese)
  • Ability to read and write using the Japanese Writing System (Kana and Kanji)
