Location: Kent, WA
Duration: Seasonal (3-6 months)
Compensation: $17.13/hour, expected 40 hours weekly

Driveline Baseball, a data-driven player development organization, is seeking a Pitching Trainer to join our team in Kent, WA. The ideal candidate will have direct experience with Driveline's training methodologies and a deep understanding of our evidence-based approach to player development.

This Role will report to the Pitching Coordinator and work closely with the rest of our local pitching, performance, and operational staff to ensure seamless integration of all elements of athlete programming. This role involves daily collaboration with trainers and athletes to drive development and results.

We’re seeking talented coaches from diverse backgrounds who bring expertise in disciplines such as high performance, pitching, and training habits. The ideal candidate will:

Key Responsibilities:
Develops the skills and understanding needed to progressively take on the following responsibilities under direction of senior level staff on location:
  • Utilize advanced technologies to assess biomechanics, pitch design, and performance metrics
  • Design and implement training programs for amateur athletes of all ages
  • Conduct assessment feedback meetings based on assessment data for amateur, youth, and novice level athletes
  • Assist facility coordinator with operational and administrative tasks
  • Collaborate with our High-Performance team to optimize training outcomes
  • Maintain meticulous records and documentation of athlete progress and training data
  • Contribute to a positive, growth-oriented training environment that fosters continuous improvement


Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1 season of coaching experience (baseball or strength and conditioning)
  • Strong familiarity with Driveline's training methodologies, either through direct experience or extensive study
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday
  • Comfort with frequent physical activity, including throwing, demonstrating exercises, and hands-on coaching


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Progress towards a degree in exercise science, biomechanics, or related field
  • Published work in peer-reviewed journals, preprints, or blog articles
  • Experience with Driveline's prescription methodology and athlete management system
  • Expertise in multiple aspects of player development (strength training, manual therapy, pitching mechanics)
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or equivalent certification
  • Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g. Rapsodo, TrackMan, Blast Motion)
  • Experienced with content creation tools, videography, generative AI, and related tools

  8. You start at Driveline Baseball and after completing your onboard you are assigned a new athlete. With the athlete assessing in mid-October, we have 12 weeks to prepare for Pro Day. You are tasked with prioritizing the following training areas for his development – please assign a percentage of training economy that correlates to the importance of each area below. (You must allocate 100% In total) The player graduates from a non-power 5 D1 school with aspirations of playing professionally. He is: • A RHP • 91-92 mph fastball (T 94 mph) with below average shape • 30 (20-80) grade command • Employs a sweeper that grades out above average and an average curveball • Shows average ability in the weight room when compared to other professionals Please elaborate as to why you assigned the highest point value and the lowest point value.

  9. You are 12 weeks away from Pro day where he will need to throw a maximum intent bullpen in front of scouts. Create a throwing program that you would present to the athlete.
