Technical Services: Programmer
The Detroit Tigers are currently seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer. This role will be responsible for development and maintenance of software projects within Baseball Operations. This position will report to the Director of Baseball Systems.  The location for this position may be based in Detroit, MI or fully remote.

1.     Perform development and maintenance on internal software products.
2.     Utilize modern software techniques and best practices in all parts of the software lifecycle.
3.     Support the integration of baseball analysis into our proprietary tools and applications.
4.     Assist with the design and development of new software products.
5.     Other projects or responsibilities as directed by Baseball Operations leadership.

1.     BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or equivalent experience.
2.     3+ years of experience developing web applications in a production environment.
3.     Demonstrated knowledge of modern web development including at least one popular single-page web application framework.
4.     Experience working with large-scale relational databases using SQL.
5.     Ability to work in all phases of the product lifecycle, including requirements-gathering, design, testing, and implementation.
6.     Ability to learn new technologies and techniques as necessary.
7.     Familiarity with the sport of baseball, baseball-specific data, modern statistical techniques, and sabermetric analysis.

1.     Experience in the sports industry or with sports data
2.     Experience working on cloud-based software systems
3.     Understanding of User Experience principles and practices
4.     Experience with JavaScript visualization tools such as D3 or Plotly
5.     Preference for the declarative programming paradigm
1.     Office environment.
2.     Location may be based in Detroit or fully remote.
3.     Occasional evening, weekend, and holiday hours may be required.
