Job Summary

The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, a proud member of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, are seeking multiple motivated, outgoing, and detail-oriented Front Office Interns to join our organization as part of Blue Crabs University.

This immersive internship program provides hands-on experience across multiple departments within a professional baseball organization, with a strong emphasis on ticket sales, fan engagement, and community outreach. Interns will gain real-world exposure to the day-to-day operations of a professional sports franchise while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Blue Crabs University is an excellent opportunity for students and early-career professionals looking to build their resume in sports while developing valuable sales, communication, and customer-service skills. Participants will also have the opportunity to earn commission through ticket sales, making this a performance-driven program that rewards initiative and results.

Job Description

The intern will work under the direction of the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs front office staff and assist with various game-day and office responsibilities throughout the season.

Responsibilities

• Assist with game operations, community relations, ticket sales, and other departments during all Southern Maryland Blue Crabs home games  

• Support the ticket sales staff by answering phone calls, making outbound sales calls, and processing ticket orders  

• Actively sell group outings, season ticket plans, and mini plans  

• Help maintain and operate the official team store  

• Assist with in-game promotions and fan engagement initiatives  

• Provide excellent customer service  

• Perform other duties as assigned  

Qualifications

• Enrolled undergraduate or graduate student

• Strong communication and organizational skills  

• Self-motivated and professional  

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint  

• Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends  

Time Commitment

2026 Southern Maryland Blue Crabs season  

5–15 hours per week (flexible)

Compensation

This internship is unpaid and offered for academic credit, which may be granted if coordinated through the intern’s college or university.

Interns who actively participate in ticket sales will have the opportunity to earn commission on all group outings, season ticket plans, and mini plans sold, providing a performance-based incentive for those interested in gaining hands-on sales experience.
