Position Overview:
As a Blue Crew Intern, your job is to help execute all aspects of the fan experience at Southern Maryland Blue Crabs games. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting with the coordination of pre-game, in-game, and post-game entertainment, creating high-energy moments throughout the ballpark, and supporting the execution of all on-field promotions and interactive fan activities.
Blue Crew Interns serve as ambassadors of the Blue Crabs brand and play a key role in making every game fun, engaging, and memorable for fans of all ages. This position is eligible for college credit and provides hands-on experience in live event operations, fan engagement, and sports entertainment.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist with all game-day promotional and fan engagement activities (decorating, pre-game activations, giveaways, on-field contests, and post-game events)
- Select and/or escort in-game promotion contestants to the proper staging location
- Explain all rules and procedures for promotions and ensure required waivers are signed prior to participation
- Assist with the execution of all in-game contests, skits, and interactive entertainment
- Actively engage with fans throughout the stadium to create energy and excitement
- Work closely with the Game Day Experience Manager, on-field host, mascot, and the rest of the Blue Crew
- Ensure all fans have a fun, positive, and memorable experience at Blue Crabs Stadium
Skill Requirements:
- Outgoing, energetic personality
- Ability to interact confidently with fans of all ages
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Creative mindset and willingness to think on your feet
- Comfortable being in front of crowds and participating in high-energy activities
- Willingness to wear costumes or themed attire for theme nights and in-game promotions
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
This position is unpaid and offered for academic credit, subject to approval by the intern’s college or university.
