The High Point Rockers are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Special Events and Merchandise Intern to join our team for the Summer Semester. The Special Events and Merchandise Intern will play a crucial role in planning, organizing, and executing various special events hosted by the team as well as assist with merchandising operations of High Point Rockers Baseball.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  1. Event Planning: Assist in the planning and coordination of special events, including but not limited to suite gatherings, various events, and fan appreciation activities.
  2. Logistics Management: Work closely with the Events Manager to ensure all logistical aspects of events are well-coordinated, including venue setup, vendor coordination, and equipment logistics, and breakdown.
  3. Fan Interaction: Interact with fans during events, ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience. Collect feedback and suggestions to improve future events.
  4. Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the Events Manager, including but not limited to merchandise, inventory, game day operations, and communication with vendors.
  5. Assist with Merchandise Operations:
    1. Support day-to-day merchandise operations, including inventory management, restocking, and organizing merchandise displays.
    2. Assist in the setup and breakdown of merchandise stands during home games and events.
  6. Customer Service:
    1. Interact with fans and customers to provide assistance, answer inquiries, and ensure a positive shopping experience.
    2. Process transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale systems.
  7. Sales Support:
    1. Actively promote merchandise sales by engaging with fans and showcasing featured products.
      1. Implement sales strategies to maximize revenue and achieve sales goals.
  8. Merchandise Design and Display:
    1. Contribute creative ideas for merchandise displays to attract customers and enhance the overall shopping experience.
    2. Assist in creating visually appealing displays that align with brand aesthetics.
 
Qualifications:
 
  1. Enrollment in a related field: Pursuing a degree in Event Management, Sports Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  2. Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with internal teams, vendors, and the public.
  3. Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  4. Team Player: A collaborative and positive attitude, with the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.
  5. Flexibility: Willingness to work long hours including nights, weekends, and holidays during all home games, select non-game days, and special events. 
  6. Passion for Sports and Events: A genuine interest in sports and a passion for creating memorable experiences for fans

While this internship is unpaid, it offers valuable exposure to the baseball industry and the chance to work closely with experienced professionals in the field.
