The Flying Boxcars play at Meritus Park in Hagerstown, Maryland. The locally owned, state-of-the-art facility was named the 2024 and 2025 ‘Ballpark of the Year’ in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, celebrating its 27th anniversary this year. The ownership of Downtown Baseball LLC is dedicated to the revitalization of downtown Hagerstown and providing the community a place to live, work and play. The organization is looking for dedicated and hard-working individuals to join the Flying Boxcars team and be part of an amazing process in creating memories for all of Hagerstown and the surrounding communities.
 Compensation:  $1,200.00 stipend per month. The position will have a start date in April 2026 and last until the end of September 2026. The start date is flexible depending on the candidate’s availability.

Requirements:
Completing or have completed a four–year college degree strongly preferred (Sport Management, Marketing, Business, Communications or another related field). Ability to maintain flexible hours, including but not limited to, normal business hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays. Must provide own transportation. Ability to stand for long periods of time, be able to lift up to 25lbs and be outdoors during the Spring and Summer months.
Qualifications:

·        Self-motivated, polite, respectful and hard working

·        Current Driver’s License; successful completion of a background check

·        Responsible individual with sound judgement

·        Completing or have completed a four–year college degree strongly preferred (Sport Management, Marketing, Business, Communications or another related field.

·        Team Player that must work well in team setting and individually

·        Ability to handle a fast-paced environment

·        This position requires a candidate to have administrative skills, such as using Excel and Microsoft Office Products

·        Candidate must be able to work long hours including weekends in the height of the season

·        Candidate must be able to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb, balance, stoop, bend, lift, push, pull, kneel, or crouch for long periods of time 

·        Candidate must be able to handle weather related elements such as rain and heat

Restaurant/Hospitality
·        The Restaurant/Hospitality associate will assist with the day-to-day operations of the main concession stands, portable food & beverage stations and non-baseball special events in the club level.

·        The schedule includes all Hagerstown Flying Boxcars home games and any extra events throughout the season.

·        The primary focus includes a commitment to quality, ensuring the highest level of customer service, ensuring premium sanitation in a safe and secure work environment, maximizing efficiency through time management and creating a fun atmosphere for our employees and our fans.
