Company Overview:
The Flying Boxcars play at Meritus Park in Hagerstown, Maryland. The locally owned, state-of-the-art facility was named the 2024 and 2025 ‘Ballpark of the Year’ in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, celebrating its 27th anniversary this year. The ownership of Downtown Baseball LLC is dedicated to the revitalization of downtown Hagerstown and providing the community a place to live, work and play. The organization is looking for dedicated and hard-working individuals to join the Flying Boxcars team and be part of an amazing process in creating memories for all of Hagerstown and the surrounding communities.
Compensation: $1,200.00 stipend per month. The position will have a start date in April 2026 and last until the end of September 2026. The start date is flexible depending on the candidate’s availability.
Requirements:
Completing or have completed a four–year college degree strongly preferred (Sport Management, Marketing, Business, Communications or another related field). Ability to maintain flexible hours, including but not limited to, normal business hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays. Must provide own transportation. Ability to stand for long periods of time, be able to lift up to 25lbs and be outdoors during the Spring and Summer months.
Qualifications:
· Self-motivated, polite, respectful and hard working
· Current Driver’s License; successful completion of a background check
· Responsible individual with sound judgement
· Completing or have completed a four–year college degree strongly preferred (Sport Management, Marketing, Business, Communications or another related field.
· Team Player that must work well in team setting and individually
· Ability to handle a fast-paced environment
· This position requires a candidate to have administrative skills, such as using Excel and Microsoft Office Products
· Candidate must be able to work long hours including weekends in the height of the season
· Candidate must be able to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb, balance, stoop, bend, lift, push, pull, kneel, or crouch for long periods of time
· Candidate must be able to handle weather related elements such as rain and heat
Marketing/Corporate Sales
· Increase and enhance fan engagement, ticket sales, and connection to communities
· Provide content for release via social media channels
· Engage social media users to offer a fan-engagement experience
· Monitor conversations and address questions with appropriate staff
· Assist with strategy to increase engagement amongst followers.
· Assist with growing overall social media presence via development of new media or strategies
· Collect statistics on social media accounts and analyze to establish trends
· Assist with franchise website graphics and updates as necessary
· Provide live, game updates via social media
· Contribute to the execution of marketing plan
· Be able to speak in a public setting in an energetic and professional manner.
· Basic camera skills
· Assist in the execution and fulfillment of corporate partner agreements
· Help coordinate and track sponsor promotions, in-game activations, signage, and digital media deliverables
· Capture and organize photo documentation of partner activations for recap reports
· Support game-day sponsor engagements, including pregame setup, in-game promotions, and hospitality events
· Contribute to mid-season and end-of-season partner recap presentations
· Assist the sales staff with lead generation, research, and outreach initiatives
· Help maintain accurate and organized CRM and partner databases
· Support the preparation of partnership proposals, presentations, and collateral materials
· Contribute creative ideas to enhance partner visibility and fan engagement
· Serve as a key member of the game-day corporate partnerships team, ensuring partner activations are executed seamlessly
· Engage with fans and sponsors to create memorable experiences
· Assist in special events, theme nights, and community appearances as needed
