The Official Scorer and Trackman Operator makes and announces all game decisions involving judgment calls, clarifying scoring rules interpretation to club and media personnel when necessary. We are seeking a highly focused, motivated, and detail-oriented candidates to also serve as Trackman Stringers/Operators, specifically responsible for running the Trackman system for all games. This position must have the ability to perform duties as Official Scorer and Trackman Operator. Depending on the scheduling you will perform the duties of Official Scorer or Trackman Operator, your position may vary depending on the game schedule.

·       Arrive at the ballpark no later than 60 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.

·       Collect rosters and other applicable information and be set up at assigned seat in press box before first pitch.

·       Input game stats throughout all home games accurately

·       Provide the broadcasters with interesting statistics throughout live coverage

·       Responsible for setting up rosters and tagging all game information in the Trackman system.

·       Log information for the entire game; monitoring the system and making any changes throughout the game (i.e., roster changes, defensive substitutions, etc.).

·       Troubleshoot system issues with Coordinator, Baseball Administration, and/or Trackman support, fixing any errors, and uploading the data to the Trackman cloud upon completion.

·       Maintain Trackman equipment required for tagging.

·       Perform other duties as assigned.

·       Have advanced knowledge of scoring baseball is required

·       Proficient experience in data & analytics, preferably baseball data

·       Must maintain professional attitude at all times

·       Ability to attend all Gastonia home games as well as pre-game meetings

·       Must have strong communication skills, well organized, and detail oriented

·       Proficient experience in Microsoft Suite and other data platforms

·       Previous experience using Trackman software is preferred but not required.

·       Must be available to mornings, some nights, and weekends as the schedule dictates. 10-30 hours / week depending on schedule and availability. 

This is a part-time position and hours are strictly tied to Gastonia Baseball Club home games during the 2024 season.  Due to the nature of this position, the position requires hours of work and days that include frequent nights, weekends, and holidays.
