Under the Leadership of the Director of Food and Beverage, the F&B Intern is a seasonal position from April – September/October that focuses on providing an in-depth exposure to the world of food & beverage in a sports and entertainment environment.  The F&B Intern will learn the day-to-day operations, including preparation for and execution of games and special events ensuring an exemplary fan and guest experience.  Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·       Observe, learn, and coordinate with concession stand workers, delegating tasks and providing follow-up.

·       Assist with all elements of premium F&B, including suites, club events, non-game day events, and picnics. This includes observing and learning the planning steps necessary for the successful execution of each event.

·       Work directly with the onsite management team to observe, learn, and participate in setup across all elements of the F&B operation to ensure the successful execution of all game and non-game day events. 

·       Oversees and/or participates in stand set-up and closing procedures.

·       At closing, work with the entire F&B team to properly clean equipment and organize stock for the next event, in addition to fully closing down all F&B operations before departure.

·       Ensure complete and total customer satisfaction while performing duties.

·       Observe, Train, and coach employees through constant and consistent feedback both good and bad.

·       Exposure to all positions in the Concession stand; cashier, fry & grill cook, and how to operate all equipment.

·       Ability to incorporate par/production/count sheets into the daily routine and effectively communicate proper production levels of product based upon expected game and event attendance.

·       Ensure the F&B team provides fast, friendly, and accurate service.

·       Assists with setup and completion of all location product count sheets, production sheets, par & stocking sheets, ordering and receiving of the product effectively, while learning product flow throughout the venue.

·       Able to resolve customer issues by clarifying the customer's complaint, determining the cause of the problem, and selecting the best solution to solve the problem.

·       Must meet state and local health requirements for food handlers and alcoholic beverage services.

·       Ensures stand workers comply with company service standards and safety procedures.

·       Ensure proper cash handling and deposit procedures are followed in locations where applicable.

·       Performs other duties as assigned by management.

·       Maintain quality and consistency of all food served.

·       Assist with inventory and food spoilage policies.

·       Desire to learn about the full operational flow of F&B in a sports and entertainment environment.

·       Other duties and tasks as assigned to develop a detailed understanding of F&B operations.

Qualifications:

·       Must be at least 18 years of age.

·       Ability to listen and communicate effectively.

·       Excellent Customer Service skills.

·       Strong organizational and time management skills.

·       Ability to work independently and in a high-stress, fast-paced environment. 

·       Previous experience in a food & beverage role in stadiums, arenas, sports and entertainment, convention centers, hotels, and/or high volume is preferred.

·       Knowledge of health and safety regulations.

·       TIPS and ServSafe Certifications or state or local certifications if different where required.

 
Other Requirements:

Must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for periods of up to six (6) hours in length and have the ability to bend and lift up to 30 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and other employees. Must be able to go from warm to cold climates (workstation to coolers) and work in warmer conditions. Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
