Retail Buyer for a category to be determined for the Atlanta Braves and Spring Training.
- Product Development/Buying while staying within open to buy budget and per approval of the Director of Buying Operations
- Create Item numbers, process Purchase Orders and re-orders.
- Set up Vendor Meetings.
- Run and review Inventory Reports to maintain appropriate inventory levels and place appropriate buys.
- Produce Merchandise Transfers/Distros for stores.
- Update par levels for all categories based on inventory levels and add hot market items as needed.
- Coordinate inventory Markdowns with the Director when necessary.
- Track orders and follow up with vendors on status of POs.
- Update Yellow Dog with all images of products ordered.
- Work with vendors to ensure all “RTV” products get shipped back in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Manage buying calendar of all due dates in category.
- Ensure timely delivery of merchandise, initiate cancellations or negotiate discounts on late deliveries as appropriate and manage key relationships with licensees.
- Responsible for all month-end reports for Spring Training
- Assist with all merchandising needs and work with merchandising team daily.
- Assist with product assortment for all photo shoots and fashion shows.
- Attend vendor/MLB meetings as needed.
- Assist Director of Retail Buying Operations with data analysis.
- Work with retail marketing to provide products for all social media, marketing, and special events.
- Participate in Seasonal and Annual Physical Inventories.
- Assist with all other duties as assigned.
- Work games as scheduled.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3 years merchandising experience that includes buying and vendor relationship responsibilities, inventory control (Yellow Dog experience a plus)
- Proactive, organized and detail-oriented person who can prioritize and follow through with minimal supervision
- An understanding and appreciation for diverse cultures and an ability to work effectively and relate well with individuals of diverse backgrounds and all levels within the company
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
- Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Self-motivated individual with high degree of responsibility, sense of urgency and accountability
- Must be a team player, who cares about the team’s work and success
- Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) proficiency
- Able to work long hours, overtime, weekends, and occasional holidays
