Position Summary:
The Director of Revenue and Ticketing for the Sioux Falls Canaries leads ticket revenue generation, corporate partnership sales, account management, and box office operations for Canaries baseball games and other stadium events. This hands-on role develops and executes sales strategies, builds group and premium opportunities, strengthens customer retention, and manages event-day ticketing. The ideal candidate is a driven, entrepreneurial sales leader with a strong growth mindset, excellent relationship-building skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, resourceful environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Revenue Strategy & Sales Execution
  • Develop and execute annual revenue strategies for season memberships, group sales, premium hospitality, single-game tickets, corporate partnerships, and other assigned revenue streams.
  • Establish sales goals, activity standards, pricing recommendations, inventory strategies, and performance dashboards aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Prospect, present, negotiate, and close new business while maintaining an active pipeline of qualified opportunities.
Ticket Sales & Retention
  • Create and sell customized ticket and hospitality packages for businesses, schools, nonprofits, youth organizations, and community groups.
  • Lead season membership renewals, group rebooking, upselling, loyalty initiatives, and customer retention efforts.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on campaigns, offers, lead generation, email communication, and promotional plans that drive ticket sales.
Corporate Partnerships
  • Develop new corporate partnerships and grow existing accounts through creative, results-oriented sponsorship packages.
  • Coordinate contract fulfillment and activation with hospitality, promotions, media, marketing, and stadium operations staff.
  • Maintain accurate agreements, account notes, deliverables, invoicing information, and renewal timelines.
Box Office & Ticketing Operations
  • Manage all aspects of ticket operations, including the Igniter ticketing system, customer accounts, inventory control, event setup, reporting, and access-related support.
  • Oversee box office and event-day ticketing operations to ensure accurate transactions and a smooth customer experience at all entry points.
  • Reconcile ticket sales, deposits, settlements, and revenue reporting in collaboration with the Canaries accounting team.
Team Leadership & Non-Baseball Events
  • Recruit, train, coach, and manage sales and ticketing staff while fostering an accountable, energetic, and customer-focused culture.
  • Develop ticketing, hospitality, and partnership revenue opportunities for concerts, festivals, tournaments, and other non-baseball events.
  • Represent the Canaries at networking events, community functions, and business gatherings to build relationships and generate revenue opportunities.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated success in outbound sales, ticket sales, sponsorships, account management, or other relationship-based revenue generation.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, organization, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM, ticketing, and sales reporting systems.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays during the baseball season and for special events.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3-5+ years of ticket sales, corporate partnership, or revenue leadership experience, ideally in sports or live entertainment.
  • Familiarity with Igniter or comparable ticketing platforms.
  • Experience creating pricing strategies, sales campaigns, sponsorship proposals, and premium hospitality packages.
 
Compensation: Salary plus commission and/or bonus structure based on revenue performance
