The Lake Country DockHounds, proud members of the American Association of Professional Baseball, are looking for a Broadcast Journalism Intern to join our team for the 2026 season at Wisconsin Brewing Company Park in Oconomowoc, WI.
This is your chance to gain hands-on experience in sports broadcasting—from live play-by-play and color commentary to writing, interviewing, and producing content for fans. You’ll work alongside our Head Broadcaster and team staff to bring DockHounds baseball to life both in the ballpark and online.
What You’ll Do
- Broadcast: Call all 50 home games alongside the Head Broadcaster (play-by-play and color commentary).
- Content Creation: Write daily game previews, recaps, and press releases for the DockHounds website and social media.
- Media Relations: Assist with coordinating press passes and working with local media outlets.
- Storytelling: Conduct player and staff interviews, create feature stories, and compile daily stat packs.
- Fan Engagement: Support pre- and post-game interviews and community/mascot appearances.
- Teamwork: Jump in to assist other departments on game days as needed.
What We’re Looking For
- Students pursuing a career in broadcast journalism, sports communication, or media.
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable speaking on-air with enthusiasm and professionalism.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays throughout the season (late April–mid September).
- A positive, team-first attitude and passion for sports.
Internship Details
- Compensation: Up to $1,500 for the summer.
- Schedule: All 50 home games, plus occasional community appearances.
- Location: Wisconsin Brewing Company Park, Oconomowoc, WI.
