Job Description:  Assistant Clubhouse Manager
The following is a description of the Assistant Clubhouse Manager position and is responsible for the day-to-day operations involving the visiting clubhouse & umpires - while assisting our Clubhouse Manager.  Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to the list.  This position requires long & odd hours; while working in a demanding, fast-paced environment in all aspects of weather.  Must work every home game along with some nongame days while the team is on the road. This position's start date is roughly May 1st through Sept 30th, including holidays.  Attendance is mandatory.  The ideal candidate needs to be self-motivated, have self-pride, work well with others and be able to work alone.  Time management, attention to detail, customer service and creativeness are essential and will ultimately determine the outcome of your performance.  Must be able to lift 50lbs.  This position reports directly to the Cougars Field Manager and/or the Cougars Vice President/General Manager.

Assist Clubhouse Manager With The Following Responsibilities
 For Home, Visiting Team & Umpires:

Pre-Season: 
  • Uniform Inventory: All jerseys, pants, hoodies, shirts, hats, socks, belts, etc.
  • Distribute equipment: Bats, balls, helmets, catcher’s gear, pine tar, bat weights, laundry loops, travel & on-field bags, etc.
  • Establish an organized clubhouse prior to the team’s arrival. 
  • Position decals on batting helmets.
  • Ensure clubhouses, surrounding areas and batting cage are clean and ready to be occupied. Continuously upkeep on a daily basis throughout the day.
  • Spring Training details - picking up meals, etc.

Game Day:
  • Work every game on the schedule. 
  • Typically, one of the first to arrive and last to leave the ballpark.
  • Have everything ready to go for the daily arrival.
  • Laundry - wash and maintain the cleanliness of the uniforms, workout loops, shower towels, etc. - Home, Visiting Team & Umpires
  • Must coordinate pick-up details with any visiting team or umpire crew coming in with dirty uniforms that will need to be washed.
  • Visiting teams may come in dirty at odd & all hours of the night. Must pick-up from the team hotel & have washed - ready to go upon their team arrival to park.
  • Coordinate visiting teams arrival on a daily basis & have all the doors unlocked
  • Meet our team at odd hours when we come back from a road trip & wash the laundry.
  • Cougars laundry - concession, KidZone, usher towels and mascot uniforms.
  • This position will stay behind to finish the laundry whenever we have a travel day to the road city on the last game of a homestand.
  • Coordinate to come in while the team is on the road to maintain clubhouses, stock & prep for the upcoming homestand.
  • Work closely with Cougars & Visiting Team field staff and players, Umpires, along with the Cougars Front Office.
  • On-field preparation for pre-, in- and post-game. Includes setting up and replenishing coolers with ice & water, cups, bench towels, batting practice equipment, etc.
  • Maintain a clean and organized clubhouse environment, including the batting cage.
  • Vacuum and empty garbage throughout the day to guarantee the area has a clean,  welcoming appearance.
  • Collect laundry to wash, distribute shower towels, stock fridges, clean, empty garbage & tidy up clubhouses once the game starts.
  • Pick-up spreads from kitchen & set-up in respective clubhouses. Spread must have a nice, appealing presentation.
  • Clean chafers & spread counters on a daily basis.
  • Must use sanitary practices when handling food.
  • Help when needed and show hospitality to any guest appearances.
  • Visiting Team & Umpires must be shown top-tier hospitality. 
  • Ensure the Visiting Clubhouse and Umpire’s locker room are maintained and taken care of with the above responsibilities along with the League Requirements.
  • Stock clubhouses with a sufficient amount of drinks and snacks & other amenities including shoe cleaner, gum and seeds, etc.
  • Water coolers should always be filled and readily available with cold water.
  • This position will set-up a light spread for the visiting team that’s ready to go upon arrival.
  • The Assistant Clubhouse Manager will be responsible for putting the team first and making sure they are well-attended to, but ensuring the job responsibilities are accomplished in a timely manner.
  • Respect and integrity will be heavily emphasized while assisting in the clubhouse.
  • Distribute mail to the team.
  • Collect both teams’ pass list and bring to Will Call
  • Assist in managing bat boys and their schedules. May need to bat boy if needed.
  • Help issue equipment
  • Must be readily available to help with tarp during inclement weather.
  • Unwrap baseballs for umpires & everyday use
  • Strong communication is a must.
  • Cougars & Visiting Team staff and players may ask you to complete personal tasks for them at your own discretion.
  • Additional compensation will be heavily based on performance; receiving tips from players and coaches.

Post-Season:
  • Final wash of the uniforms eliminating any stubborn stains.
  • Assist with the End of Season inventory of all the equipment.
  • Winterize Clubhouse - thorough cleaning and leaving the areas organized for the offseason.

**This is a seasonal, part-time position. Compensation is TBD.
