The Gary SouthShore RailCats are seeking a creative and motivated Production Intern to join our team for the 2026 season! This role is perfect for students looking to gain hands-on experience in sports media, live production, and digital content creation in a professional baseball environment. This summer internship runs from May through September 2026. 


Production Intern Responsibilities: 
  • Rotate through different roles on the production crew on game days  
    • Camera operator, music, video board, graphics  
  • Design and create graphics for the video board; update content daily to ensure accuracy and relevance 
  • Assist with setup, operation, and maintenance of all video production equipment  
  • Storyboard, film, and edit commercials to be used on live broadcasts  
  • Collaborate with marketing and social media teams to develop creative content ideas for Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook  
  • Use vMix, our live video streaming software, to prepare elements for our broadcast before games  
  • Attend mascot appearances and community events 
  • Assist with the organization, restocking, and inventory of the team store 
  • Other duties as assigned  
 
General Responsibilities and Expectations: 
  • Have fun and bring enthusiasm to the professional sports environment 
  • Assist with distribution of pocket schedules  
  • Assist with all tarp pulls - which may include non-game days, weekends and or holidays   
  • Help maintain stadium cleanliness 
  • Assist with special events throughout the season 
 
Qualifications: 
  • Undergraduate or graduate student attending an accredited university 
  • Must be able to earn college credit for internship  
  • Must be able to commit to work the entire internship period from start to finish 
  • Willingness to work all 50 home games and other events as scheduled including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required during the baseball season 
  • Experience working in live sports production; baseball experience is a plus 
  • Experience operating a camera and following director instruction 
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and InDesign  
  • Experience working with an integrated video production switcher (vMix, TriCaster, Blackmagic ATEM)  
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks at any given time   
  • Highly motivated with strong work ethic 
  • Passion for sports and strong desire to work in a team environment 
 
COMPENSATION: $750 per month
