Position Overview
The Chicago Dogs are seeking a high-energy, outgoing, and creative individual to serve as the official team mascot. This role is responsible for delivering an unforgettable fan experience at home games, community events, and promotional appearances. The ideal candidate thrives in front of crowds, is physically expressive, and embodies the fun, family-friendly spirit of Chicago Dogs baseball.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform as the official Chicago Dogs mascot at all home games and select away games.
- Engage and entertain fans of all ages through skits, dances, crowd interactions, and in-game promotions.
- Represent the Chicago Dogs at community appearances, charity events, school visits, parades, and sponsor activations.
- Collaborate with the promotions and marketing teams to develop creative entertainment concepts and themed performances.
- Maintain mascot costume, props, and equipment in top condition.
- Assist with social media content creation, including short-form videos, photo shoots, and promotional campaigns.
- Uphold the Chicago Dogs brand standards and maintain character integrity at all times (no breaking character in public).
- Must be able to work ALL Chicago Dogs home games
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college students encouraged to apply).
- Experience in performance, theater, cheer, dance, athletics, or mascot work preferred.
- Comfortable performing in front of large crowds (up to 6,000+ fans).
- Strong non-verbal communication and improvisation skills.
- High energy level with the ability to work in a physically demanding costume (extended periods of standing, dancing, and outdoor weather conditions).
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays during the baseball season.
- Reliable transportation to and from the stadium and event locations.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform in a mascot costume for extended periods (30–45 minutes at a time).
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Tolerance for warm conditions inside costume and outdoor summer weather.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay of $75.00-$150.00 per game, based on experience
