Summary
Join our team as Part-Time Security Staff, playing a crucial role in ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all patrons and staff at our events. You will provide essential assistance, monitor crowd behavior, and respond to various situations before, during, and after events. This position requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to maintain a composed presence in a dynamic environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct visual checks of patrons and their belongings to prevent prohibited items from entering the venue.
- Provide directions and assistance to patrons regarding venue facilities, seating, and services.
- Monitor entry and exit points to ensure authorized access and prevent unauthorized entry.
- Maintain clear aisles and pathways for safe and efficient patron movement.
- Collaborate effectively with other event staff, law enforcement, and emergency medical personnel to ensure overall patron safety.
- Assist with emergency evacuations, guiding patrons to designated safety areas.
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and incidents promptly to appropriate operations staff.
- Complete accurate incident reports and other required administrative documentation.
- Provide assistance to patrons in distress, including those experiencing medical issues or requiring support.
- Protect venue assets, performers, and patrons from vandalism, theft, or disruptive behavior.

Education and Experience
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent customer relations, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to speak and understand English clearly.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as instructions, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to write routine reports clearly and concisely.
- Proficiency in communicating utilizing two-way radio equipment.
- Ability to deal effectively and courteously with the general public.
- Ability to maintain a composed presence in a fast-paced environment where multiple tasks, events, and stimuli may occur simultaneously.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in confrontational situations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Availability
- Must be available to work primarily nights and weekends, and occasionally holidays, based on event schedules.
Other Requirements
- Reliable method of communication for scheduling and urgent contact.
- Ability to work outdoors as required by event conditions.
