SUMMARY

The Part-Time Event Staff is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and positive experience of all patrons, artists, and staff during events. This role involves monitoring various venue areas, enforcing policies, providing assistance, and contributing to a welcoming and secure environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide guests with accurate event and venue information and directions.
  2. Monitor designated venue entry points, backstage, and front-of-house areas.
  3. Enforce venue policies and procedures to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all.
  4. Identify and address prohibited items or behaviors in accordance with venue guidelines.
  5. Secure door entrances, exits, and restricted areas to prevent unauthorized access.
  6. Maintain clear aisles and pathways for safe and efficient patron movement.
  7. Assist patrons with seating, wayfinding, and general inquiries, providing excellent customer service.
  8. Collaborate with other event staff, security, and management to respond to incidents and ensure overall safety.
  9. Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and incidents promptly to appropriate staff.
  10. Assist with emergency procedures, including evacuations, as directed.
  11. Interact professionally and courteously with artists, performers, and all guests.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Customer service experience preferred.

  • Excellent customer relations and communication skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to maintain a composed presence in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with co-workers.
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to enforce policies and procedures consistently and respectfully.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to respond calmly to various situations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Ability to speak and understand English clearly.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to deal effectively and courteously with the general public.

AVAILABILITY
  • Must have a flexible schedule and willingness to work primarily nights and weekends, and occasionally holidays, based on event schedules.

  • Reliable method of communication for scheduling and urgent contact.
