Summary

The Bartender is responsible for the proper and responsible service of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to event patrons, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and adherence to all relevant policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned.
  1. Receives and fills drink orders from patrons or servers in a fast-paced environment.
  2. Serves alcoholic beverages responsibly, requests identification as necessary, and adheres to all venue and company alcohol service policies and procedures.
  3. Mixes and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for patrons following standard recipes and using company-standardized proportions.
  4. Collects payment from patrons for drinks served and makes correct change accurately.
  5. Completes Daily Bar Sales Reports thoroughly and accurately.
  6. Maintains bar stock by ordering or requisitioning liquors, beverages, condiments, and supplies.
  7. Maintains work area in a secure, clean, and organized manner.
  8. Cleans and stores bar equipment and bar stock.
  9. Performs opening and closing duties according to established procedures.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Bartending and customer service experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent customer relations, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to speak and understand English clearly.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to deal effectively and courteously with venue staff and the general public.
  • Ability to maintain a calm, composed presence in an often fast-paced environment where multiple tasks, events, and stimuli may occur simultaneously.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to remember previously learned material such as specifics, criteria, techniques, principles, and procedures.
  • Ability to identify choices and potential outcomes, determine importance of outcomes, combine information to prioritize options, and make decisions based on the best and most important choice.
  • Must have a positive and friendly demeanor.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Must be able to obtain all State and local required certificates and licenses necessary to serve food and alcohol.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Reliable method of communication for scheduling and urgent contact.

Availability
  • Must be available to work primarily nights and weekends, and occasionally holidays, as event schedules dictate.
