SUMMARY
This position is responsible for marketing and public relations activities for the Fresno Convention and Entertainment Center and VenuWorks of Fresno. This includes working with promoters/clients and venue staff to effectively manage the marketing and publicity for events and facilities, as well as coordinating the venue social media account, event and facility promotions, and in-house advertising creative services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.
1.    Create marketing ad plans for specific events and coordinate publicity for events and facilities. Services include media buying, design services, promotional development and coordination with venue staff, promoters, and community partners.  Monitor ticket sales reports and prioritize marketing efforts to maximize ticket sales for events using all assets available.
2.    Act as an in-house advertising agency, establishing strong working relationships with media partners to ensure that the venue’s events are receiving the best rates, deal points and promotions and maximizing the value the venue receives for the significant amount of money spent on advertising each year.
3.    Create and develop venue assets including website updates, digital images, printed materials, and other forms of promotion as needed. 
4.    Responsible for writing press releases, website and social media copy, creating e-blasts. Communicate with clients, sponsors, customers, local media, and venue staff. 
5.    Coordinate on-site marketing events including advancing show details, escorting media, contest winners, sponsors, and managing various event promotions.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
1.    Acts as the “creative” coordinator with internal staff and outside sources in the development of events and marketing materials.
2.    Create and compile post-event reports for show settlement including invoices, tear sheets, patron feedback and other related materials. 
3.    Contribute to the creation of an annual marketing plan, year-end recap, sponsorship reports, etc.
4.    Recognize opportunities to receive publicity from building operations, activities, awards/honors, etc. and share with local, regional or national media and VenuWorks Corporate.
5.    Maintain brand standards of logo and name when used by outside parties in partnerships and sponsorships.
6.    Remains current on national trends in the industry and local market changes that affect the facility. Responsible for maintaining cutting-edge status on new ideas or technologies related to websites, mobile apps, social media, advertising/media opportunities, and promotional items.
7.    Evaluate current marketing and sponsorship agreements/opportunities to ensure the greatest return in investments and most efficient use of assets.
8.    Provide answers to customer service inquiries to customers, clients, and sponsors about the facilities through the website, social media, and other communication methods.
9.    Perform other duties, functions and special projects as assigned by the Executive Director and corporate staff of VenuWorks.
10.  Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with VenuWorks policies and applicable laws.  Responsible for planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding, disciplining in accordance with Human Resources, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 
1.    Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or University in business administration, marketing, communications, public assembly management or related field with relevant experience required. 
2.    Experience in graphic design through Adobe Creative Suite programs, such as Photoshop, or other equivalent design programs.  Must have excellent computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office programs, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
3.    Other combinations of experience and education that meet these requirements may be substituted.
4.    Proficiency with MS Office programs, particularly Excel, required.
 
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 
Applicant must possess a current valid driver's license and current working telephone number that can be accessed by building management for personal or business contact purposes.

1.    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
2.    Ability to speak in public, both in person and via various media outlets.
3.    Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals

5.    Ability to speak and understand English.

1.    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
2.    Ability to calculate figures and amounts, interest, commission, proportions, and percentages and apply them to practical situations.

SALARY RANGE: $70,000 - $85,000 annually, exempt. (Salary determined by applicable position experience and years of experience.)
