SUMMARY
The Guest Services Staff plays a vital role in creating a positive, welcoming, and safe experience for all visitors of the Fresno Convention & Entertainment Center. Under the direction of the Senior Event Manager and leadership teams, this position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting guests with wayfinding, event information, seating support, and ensuring a smooth and enjoyable event experience. Guest Services Staff help maintain an organized and friendly atmosphere by addressing guest needs promptly, enforcing venue policies, and supporting event operations. This role requires strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to remain attentive and responsive in a fast-paced, event‑driven environment.
 ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  1. Greet guests with a welcoming attitude and professional demeanor.
  2. Scan tickets and verify that all guests have proper credentials for entry.
  3. Provide friendly, accurate directions and general event information within all Fresno Convention & Entertainment Center venues.
  4. Check tickets for guests accessing seating sections and assist them with locating their seats.
  5. Respond professionally to guest questions, information requests, and comments.
  6. Perform multiple tasks efficiently, often transitioning quickly between duties without loss of composure.
  7. Use excellent customer service skills while interacting with guests, vendors, and employees.
  8. Complete all assigned tasks within guidelines and deadlines provided by Directors, Managers, and Supervisors.
  9. Interact calmly and professionally when faced with challenging or emotional guests and employees.
  10. Memorize, recollect, and quickly retrieve event-related information as needed.
  11. Follow all operating policies and procedures at all times.
  12. Maintain confidentiality regarding company information.
  13. Support high‑volume operations during peak event times, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR  EXPERIENCE         
·        High school diploma or equivalent
·        At least 18 years of age
·        One (1) year prior customer service experience, preferably in sports/entertainment venue environment, but not required
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
·        Must be able to pass a background check.
·        Must have a reliable working telephone number accessible by management for scheduling and business‑related communication.
·        Reliable, punctual, and consistent in attendance with effective communication skills.
·        Must have reliable transportation to and from scheduled shifts.
·        Must have the ability to read, write, and understand English in a working environment.
·        Friendly, outgoing, and professional demeanor.
·        Ability to take direction well and work effectively with coworkers and management.
·        Must maintain a neat, well‑groomed, and professional appearance.
·        No visible tattoos, facial piercings, or unnatural hair colors (e.g., blue, pink, etc.).
·        Must be available to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in addition to normal operating hours.
 SALARY RANGE
Hourly Rate:  $17.00 – Non Exempt

 ·        This role requires interacting with guests from diverse backgrounds, working during busy event periods, and collaborating closely with venue staff to ensure smooth operations.
·        The employee may occasionally be exposed to cold temperatures and elevated noise levels depending on the nature of specific events.
·        The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms, communicate clearly, and work in active event environments.
·        Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands to handle items or operate scanning equipment.
·        Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be required.
·        Close vision abilities are required for ticket scanning and credential verification.
·        Walking and standing may occur up to 90% of the time (typically 4–6 hours per shift).
·        Employees may be assigned to work outdoor positions.
·        Employees may be scheduled for any shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
·        Employees are expected to follow all safety guidelines and use proper precautions.
