POSITION SUMMARY:
The Retail Manager will manage aspects of retail shop, vendor and special events. This position is responsible for delivering exceptional retail products and world class customer service.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Successfully manage all aspects of the retail shop and special events areas
- Hire, manage, schedule and train retail shop and other team members
- Manage and maintain all product pricing and properly maintain the POS and online platforms with accurate pricing, discounts, and controls
- Enforce proper cash handling policies and procedures
- Maintain inventory control and make certain all store merchandise is property displayed and tagged
- Ensure the retail shop and event spaces are clean, attractive, and properly maintained
- Assist in preparation of the annual budget and setting sales goals
- Generate and analyze daily and monthly financial & inventory reports against budget expectations
- Implement ordering processes that result in effective cash management
- Meet with vendors and make decisions on products
- Communicate effectively with sales representatives and suppliers
- Will represent BPA at various national, regional, and local trade shows, job fairs, community meetings, governmental meetings, etc.
- All other duties as assigned by leadership
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
- Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must have strong leadership skills
- Must be detail-oriented and have outstanding organizational skills
- Ability to maintain focus in a high-volume, fast paced environment
- Must be able to work under pressure and be decisive
- Ability to motivate employees
- Must be available on weekends and nights as well as some weekdays
- Must have or be willing to obtain a CPR/AED certification
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist high
- May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time both indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop, or bend
- Must be able to work in varying weather conditions
- Will be required to operate a computer
