POSITION SUMMARY:
The Events Manager will be responsible for actively procuring sponsorship sales as well as helping with the day to day marketing of the facility in conjunction with the General Manager. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of venue or event sponsorship sales. The position will include but not limited to, sponsorship valuation, execution of sales budget, understanding of general advertising methods and use of design programs such as Adobe Photoshop.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Call potential renters when an inquiry is submitted to the venue website
- Leads tours of facility
- Solicit sponsorships for special internal events
- Understand the scope and approach to local and regional sponsorship selling
- Actively pursue and identify potential clients and sponsorship opportunities throughout the local and regional marketplace
- Conduct discovery calls for prospects and leads
- Daily use of CRM program (Salesforce, Insightly, Sugar, etc.) to maintain accurate list of contacts
- Understanding a financial budget and able to prioritize monthly expenditures based on needs
- Proactively staying current of sports and recreation, fitness and entertainment industry best practices, national trends, and ongoing changes/issues within the industry
- Create and implement in-house sponsor events to drive revenue
- Make decisions on advertising in regard to anticipated ROI based on past experiences with digital or traditional advertising campaigns
- Attendance at local community and membership events on behalf of the venue
- Managing company website(s), content development, press release activity, social media platforms, and eblasts
- Participation in planning/strategic meetings, as required
- Participation in and oversight of the planning and implementation of local PR and Community grassroots events
- Serve as Manager on Duty for events as scheduled
- Assisting in maintaining an event calendar of rental/tournaments booked, as well as, listing all facility activities planned
- Use of Ticketing Software (Etix) to marketing and promote events
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field with 3+ years' appropriate sales experience required
- Proven success in generating awareness through consumer marketing and branding
- Relevant experience in youth and amateur sports as a consumer, sales professional, or other relevant experiences is preferred
- Proven experience in the successful launch of sales & marketing campaigns
- Experience working with convention & visitors' bureau, regional sports commissions, sports teams or venues is preferred
- Ability to analyze analytics to measure the ROI, efficiency, and effectiveness for all marketing programs
- Prior sales experience in attracting and managing corporate relationships; including sponsorship and financial partnerships is preferred
- Must have excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and negotiating skills
- Must be a team player
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, etc.
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays and long hours) as needed
- Skilled at identifying and creating traditional and non-traditional opportunities to deliver revenue goals
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist high
- May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop or bend
