STATUS: FULL TIME (EXEMPT)

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Local Programming will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of SFM's local programming initiatives, which include sports leagues/camps/clinics, tournaments, special events, birthday parties, and other sports or non-sport programming concepts. This role will establish programming operational standards, identify strategic programming initiatives and partnerships, evaluate programming needs within each venue, and provide support and recommendations to the venue staff.

This position will work closely with venue leaders and other internal departments (marketing, operations, finance, etc.) to continuously improve and develop venue programming.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
  • Assist with the planning, development, and implementation of venue sport programs, camps, leagues, and tournaments
  • Evaluate and continuously improve SFM's Local Programming timeline
  • Develop the Programming Tracker template and coordinate the implementation/training on how to properly input data into the tracker
  • Effectively track and report on all sports programming revenue and registration pace/results throughout the SF Network
  • Participate in the recruitment & training of sports programming staff for the venues
  • Collaborate with IT and venue staff to successfully integrate all programming offerings into preferred facility management software platforms
  • Support venue sports programming marketing plans and strategy
  • Assist with the development of venue sports programming annual schedules/calendars
  • Champion the development of sports specific curriculums (practice drills, practice schedules, program schedules, etc.) in the following sports: basketball, baseball, softball, flag football, tackle football, lacrosse, pickleball, swimming, tennis, and possibly more
  • Partner with venue leadership, marketing, and SFM leadership to achieve budgeted revenue goals
  • Author, oversee, maintain, and ensure compliance with the operations manual for sports programming to include standard policies and procedures, training, operational controls, health department guidelines, OSHA, and all other standards as needed
  • Maximize financial performance for the sports programming departments of each venue (includes revenue generation as well as managing COGS)
  • Develop sports programming to target various markets ranging from corporate, group, adult/youth/family, etc.
  • Help develop and manage venue sports programming budgets
  • Communicate often with venue leadership to ensure we receive timely and actionable feedback on all key performance indicators for each program
  • Promote consistency in delivery and quality
  • Focus on guest satisfaction and product quality in support of SFM's Mission Statement
  • Champion efforts to continuously improve client and customer satisfaction and performance by raising operational effectiveness, standards and Team Member performance
  • Additional duties as assigned by management

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3-5 years of customer service experience is preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field is preferred
  • Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours) and regular attendance necessary
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to maintain focus in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Must have excellent guest service skills
  • Must be detail-oriented and have outstanding organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in difficult and stressful situations
  • Must take personal initiative for the betterment of the team and facility
  • Commitment to the safety and wellbeing of others
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds waist high
  • May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop, or bend
  • Will be required to operate a computer
