JOB SUMMARY: The Talent Buyer will be responsible for identifying, securing, and managing live entertainment talent for the Arena at Innovation Mile. This role involves negotiating deals with agents and industry professionals, managing the booking process from offer to execution, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure successful event delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in live entertainment booking, excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills, and a deep understanding of the touring and events industry. Responsibilities also include budget management, market research, and serving as an on-site liaison during events. A passion for live entertainment and experience in arena or large-venue environments is preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Reach out to talent agents, managers, and other industry professionals to negotiate deals and book talent for the Arena at Innovation Mile

  • Identify, pitch, and secure live entertainment acts, aligned with the venue’s strategic vision and audience demographics.

  • Manage the booking process, including contract negotiations and logistics, to ensure smooth and successful talent appearances.

  • Develop artist offers and negotiate terms with agents, managers, and promoters in accordance with industry standards and within the constraints of established budgets.

  • Collaborate with artists, agents, and production teams to advance all show logistics, including travel, hospitality, technical riders, and settlement.

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with talent agencies, artist managers, record labels, promoters, and key entertainment industry stakeholders.

  • Conduct ongoing research of market trends, tour schedules, and competing venues to stay ahead of booking opportunities and maintain competitive programming.

  • Manage budgets and expenses related to talent bookings, ensuring cost-effective decisions are made.

  • Maintain an active booking calendar and work closely with internal departments (operations, production, marketing, and sales) to coordinate scheduling and event needs.

  • Work closely with the marketing and promotions teams to coordinate talent appearances and generate buzz for upcoming shows and events.

  • Serve as an on-site talent liaison during load-in, performance, and load-out as needed.

  • Support efforts to book regional or local talent and engage with local partners to enhance community involvement and grassroots marketing.

  • All other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Entertainment Business, Music Industry, Communications, or related field.

  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience as a talent buyer, promoter rep, agent, or related booking professional in live events, arenas, theaters, or venues.

  • Deep knowledge of the touring industry, artist pricing structures, and deal negotiation.

  • Familiarity with venue operations, event marketing, and ticketing systems.

  • Experience creating offers and managing show budgets.

  • Contract negotiation and settlement experience is strongly preferred.

  • Experience in an arena or amphitheater setting preferred.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent negotiation and relationship management abilities.

  • Proven ability to assess market demand and build compelling event lineups.

  • Demonstrated financial acumen in budgeting, forecasting, and revenue optimization.

  • High-level understanding of production needs including staging, lighting, sound, and backline.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Passion for live entertainment, cultural trends, and guest experience.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and booking platforms such as Prism, Event Booking, or similar software.
