The Kane County Couguars are looking for a Picnic Manager to join our team! Reporting to our Director of Food & Beverage, you will lead in the coordination of all picnics and outfield deck special events at the stadium. In order to be successful, the right candidate will be able to create strong relationships with other members of management as well as all team members and clients. Candidates must be able to plan the F&B operation with the goal of providing a great culinary experience along with a memorable customer experience.

The Picnic Manager's four main areas of focus are:

  • Proper setup of all picnic areas on all three outfield decks.

  • Lead and manage picnic supervisors and all picnic employees.

  • Execute and handle all special requests of the party.

  • Proper breakdown of picnic event with setup readiness for next game day.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Manage and develop a strong customer service oriented supervising and serving staff.

  • Work side-by-side with the team, reinforcing procedures and practices through repetition, leading by example, and providing on-going constructive feedback.

  • High level of organization and communication.

  • Heavily communicates with warehouse associates and production associates to maintain proper food and supply levels.

  • Monitors production of food preparation, food service, and clean up. Monitors all food served relative to appearance, temperature, sanitary and quality standards.

  • Collaboration with other departments to ensure all events have proper catering, execution, and staffing.

  • Communication with group leaders and event planners is prompt, concise, and organized.

  • Maintain lasting relationships with clients for annual business.

  • Assists in controlling labor costs through effective scheduling, cross-training and development of team members.

  • Expectation to work all 50 scheduled game dates. Consideration will be given to games that need to be missed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1+ Years in management / coordination of events in a sport or event venue setting preferred.

  • Comprehensive knowledge / focus on event planning.

  • Prior experience in a collaborative team environment required.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule; able and willing to work nights, weekends, holidays and long hours.

  • Currently have or able to obtain Food Handler Certification. Management certification is a plus.

  • Basic math skills.

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; bending, reaching, and lifting; must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
